Excitement is in the air as The Winter Park Playhouse announces the six winning selections for the 4th annual Florida Fesival of New Musicals now scheduled for June 24 - 27, 2021. The Festival, which showcases new musical theatre works, is one of very few in the nation and certainly the only one of its kind in the Southeast region.

Riverside Center for the Performing Arts and Producing Artistic Director, Patrick A'Hearn have announced a lineup of shows for its 24th season of bringing Broadway's Best to Virginia.

MEET ME IN ST. LOUIS opens at Artisan Center Theater on Friday, November 16, 2018 and runs through Saturday, December 22, 2018. The 196 seat theater-in-the-round is located at 444 East Pipeline Road in Hurst. Performances are at 7:30pm on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday, and Saturday with 3:00pm matinees on Saturdays beginning November 24. No performance November 22. Reserved seating tickets are $24.00 for adults, $22.00 for students and seniors, and $12.00 for children 12 and under.  Monday through Thursday tickets are $22.00 for adults and $10.00 for children 12 and under. Celebrating the figure and trajectory of singer Elza Soares, 'Elza' opens on October 18 with text by Vinicius Calderoni, directed by Duda Maia, musical direction by Pedro Luis, Larissa Luz and Antonia Adnet and arrangements by Letieres Leite.

Satchmo comes to life on stage as he is portrayed by another famous New Orleanian, Barry Shabaka Henley, a veteran actor with 25 years of stage, screen, and film credits that only define the career of a man who is capable of successfully pulling off such a complex roll. (Henley's Acting Bio) Drama Desk, Obie, and Olivier Award winner, Henley, will wow you as he radiantly delves into the heart and mind of the jazz legend, as well as portraying the other two men who both shaped and shook the man, Joe Glaser and Miles Davis.  Henley effortlessly glides between the three characters, and the seamless staging transports your mind to another time and place making each moment hypnotically authentic.

Berkshire Theatre Group presents Emmy Award-winner Lee Kalcheim's (All in the Family) World Premiere, Coming Back Like a Song!, a play about Irving Berlin, Harold Arlen and Jimmy Van Heusen. Directed by Tony Award-nominated Gregg Edelman (City of Angels, Into The Woods; BTG: Arsenic and Old Lace, Constellations), Coming Back Like a Song! features Tony Award-nominated David Garrison (A Day in Hollywood/A Night in the Ukraine) as Irving Berlin, Philip Hoffman (Cabaret, Falsettos) as Harold Arlen and David Rasche (Sledge Hammer!) as Jimmy Van Heusen. The Muny announced today the parental powerhouse that will star in the theatre's closing centennial season production,Meet Me In St. Louis, August 4 - 12. Tony-nominated Erin Dilly will star alongside real-life husband Stephen R. Buntrock as Mrs. Anna and Mr. Alonso Smith, respectively.

The Muny announced today that Broadway director and writer Gordon Greenberg will revise the book for Meet Me In St. Louis, August 4 - 12. This production, the 8th in Muny history, will also include several songs new to the stage adaptation of Meet Me In St. Louis, including 'Boys and Girls Like You and Me,' a song written by Rodgers & Hammerstein for Oklahoma! and then recorded for, but ultimately cut, from the film of Meet Me In St. Louis. This production will also include the first stage use of 'You and I,' a song in the film by Nacio Herb Brown and Arthur Freed.

Three world-renowned artists come together to perform Brahms's complete piano trios at Carnegie Hall on Thursday, February 22 at 8:00 p.m. in Stern Auditorium / Perelman Stage. Pianist Emanuel Ax, violinist Leonidas Kavakos, and cellist Yo-Yo Ma present the three works chronologically, beginning with Piano Trios Nos. 2 and 3, and concluding with No. 1 While this final work was first written in 1854 when the composer was 20 years old, he revisited the score and premiered a new version in 1890. This later version, most commonly performed today, will be presented as the third piece on this program.

On October 22, the Dallas Museum of Art (DMA) presents the first major exhibition in the Museum's history dedicated to time-based media. Truth: 24 frames per second brings together 24 pioneers of film and video and over six decades of work focused on pressing contemporary themes, such as race relations, political unrest, sexual identity and the media, to explore the nature of truth and reality in contemporary life.
