THE PUNISHING BLOW will play a three-week limited engagement at the Kirk Theater (410 West 42nd Street address). Performances begin Friday, August 13 and continue thru Saturday, August 28. Opening Night is Friday, August 13 (8 p.m.).

BAM 2010 Next Wave Festival Opens With DELUSION

Pioneering performance artist Laurie Anderson opens the 2010 BAM Next Wave Festival with Delusion, a far reaching multimedia work exploring memory, identity, and longing. Delusion received its world premiere at the 2010 Vancouver Olympics and was performed recently at Cal Performances in Berkeley, CA and at London's Barbican Centre. The BAM engagement marks its New York premiere.

ERS Benefit Announces $30 Balcony Seats

Elevator Repair Service (ERS) is hosting their spring benefit on Monday, May 3rd, 2010. The company is currently finishing the third play in a trilogy of critically acclaimed plays based on great American novels by William Faulkner, F. Scott Fitzgerald, and Ernest Hemingway. This event will celebrate ERS's success with Frances McDormand (Burn after Reading, Fargo), Lili Taylor ('Six Feet Under'), Fred Armisen ('Saturday Night Live'), Frankie Faison ('The Wire'), and ERS company members in a one night only performance of loved, banned and mythologized American fiction. Authors include Edith Wharton, Willa Cather, and Edgar Allan Poe. Readings will be accompanied by ERS's unique signature sound design.

Gareth Hale will play Scrooge in Susie McKenna and Steve Edis' adaptation of Charles Dickens' A Christmas Carol, which is to open in the newly refurbished Arts Theatre in November this year. A Christmas Carol, produced by Tiny Tim Productions, will preview from 11 November, with the press performance on 25 November, and is booking until 10 January 2010.
