Today, the classical-meets-hip-hop duo Black Violin released their album Take The Stairs. A few weeks ago I saw The Lightning Thief. Usually when a show opens, I don't read the reviews. But in this case I decided to read the first one I saw. And by the end I had very clearly reminded myself why I never read reviews. This show's reviews are just one part of a wider problem: the field of theater criticism as a whole. We need to completely revamp the way that theater is reviewed and the way that theater reviews can bring down a show.

Incitement is the winner of the Ophir Award for Israel's Best Feature Film of 2019 and Israel's Official Selection to the 2019 Academy Awards for Best International Feature Film. The Gala on November 12th at the Steve Tisch Cinema Center at the Saban Theatre in Beverly Hills will also honor two illustrious filmmakers: six-time Academy Award-winning producer Arthur Cohn with the 2019 IFF Lifetime Achievement Award as well as chair of WestEnd Films and Incitement producer Sharon Harel–Cohen with the 2019 IFF Achievement in Film Award, announced today Israel Film Festival Founder/Executive Director Meir Fenigstein.
