Festival, which returns this year with 31 performances, June 7 - August 12. The programming, reflective of Brooklyn's eclecticism and diversity, will feature a wide array of free, world-class performances at the beautiful Prospect Park Bandshell.

Fifth Third Bank Broadway in Atlanta announced today that individual tickets for the Atlanta engagement of Roundabout Theatre Company's CABARET will go on sale Sunday, August 28 at 10 a.m.

The Institute for Contemporary Art (ICA) at Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU) today announced the appointment of Stephanie Smith as its Chief Curator. The new, non-collecting contemporary art institution will open in Richmond in fall 2017. The Chief Curator is a new position in which Smith will manage the expanding curatorial team and work closely with ICA Director Lisa Freiman and the Curator of Education, Johanna Plummer, to realize and demonstrate the ICA's artistic vision. Smith is currently the Chief Curator of the Art Gallery of Ontario, Toronto, and will assume her position at the ICA this November.

Producer Mark Cortale is bringing his acclaimed Broadway concert series to Martha's Vineyard this summer. Since launching the fledgling Broadway @ The Art House concert series with Sirius XM Radio Star Seth Rudetsky in Provincetown in 2011, the Broadway @ series has become a veritable star-magnet and has exploded beyond picturesque P-Town to launch outposts everywhere from Los Angeles to London.

Multi-award winning Foothill Music Theatre presents SHE LOVES ME, the charming 1963 musical adaptation of Miklos Laszlo's play Parfumerie (which later inspired the Tom Hanks-Meg Ryan feature film You've Got Mail), with a score by Jerry Bock and Sheldon Harnick (Fiddler on the Roof) and a book by Joe Masteroff (Cabaret).

Thus, we are happy to present the return of one our most popular features: The Nashville Theater Calendar, a comprehensive - maybe even exhaustive (lord knows we're exhausted from putting it together, gathering all the info from all over the interwebs!) - listing of theatrical openings for the 2015/16 season. Halloween's all done in, there are still three weeks ahead before we officially give thanks, and Christmas - and all its accompanying frenzy and frivolity - is about seven weeks away! Tonya & Nancy: The Rock Opera gets its NY premiere as it kicks-off the New York Musical Theatre Festival (NYMF) this July. Tonya & Nancy: The Rock Opera has a concept, book and lyrics by Elizabeth Searle, music by Michael Teoli, and will be directed by David Alpert (If/ Then), with musical direction by Henry Aronson (Rock of Ages), and choreography by Marc Kimelman (A Bronx Tale). Tonya & Nancy: The Rock Opera will play at the PTC Performing Space (555 West 42nd St.) from tonight, July 9, through July 16, 2015.

The Film Society of Lincoln Center announced today Let Us Now Praise Famous Men: The Films of Pedro Costa, from July 17-23. The series precedes the opening of the Portuguese auteur's long-awaited, "hauntingly beautiful" (Variety) new film, Horse Money, which played last fall at the 52nd New York Film Festival and opens theatrically at the Film Society on July 18.

The Off-Broadway hit Murder for Two opens tonight (June 3) in the Audrey Skirball Kenis Theater.  The production has now been extended through Sunday, August 2.

Dr. Phillips Center for the Performing Arts announces upcoming shows and series confirmed to date for the 2015-2016 season.  The Dr. Phillips Center's anchor season of Broadway Across America and the resident companies of the Orlando Ballet and the Orlando Philharmonic Orchestra will be joined by new series and festivals including the Morgan Stanley Jazz at Dr. Phillips Center subscription series, a Flamenco festival and a Chefs at the Dr. Phillips Center series.  

Joanna Murray-Smith's Switzerland -- already extended one week -- will extend yet another eight performances by popular demand with a final closing date of April 26, 2015. A world premiere with the Sydney Theatre Company, Switzerland is a Los Angeles Times Arts Editors' "Essential Arts and Culture" Pick and features Laura Linney (Broadway World said she is "pure gold") and Seth Numrich (called "outstanding" by the Los Angeles Times).

On Monday, March 16, 2015, the League of Professional Theatre Women (LPTW), a not-for-profit organization committed to promoting visibility and increasing opportunities for women in the professional theatre, is pleased to recognize the talents of five outstanding women: Mary-Mitchell Campbell, Kathleen Chalfant, Sandra A. Daley-Sharif, Rachel Dickstein, and Donyale Werle.

As THE VAMPIRE DIARIES continues to straddle two dimensions and two time periods, I've done a lot of thinking on which of these planes I would rather exist on. Fortunately, I didn't have to waste too much time because the answer is obviously 1994 Heaven/Hell. Awesome music, sweet clothing, no lines, no worrying about obnoxious people trying to murder you every five minutes. Damon and Bonnie have it good.
