According to the Hollywood Reporter, former Livent executive Garth Drabinksy has been denied full parole in because he was unable to 'assure authorities his current business ventures do not risk a return to fraudulent activities.' Drabinsky and his business partner Myron Gottlieb were convicted of two counts of fraud in 2009 after misreporting Livent's quarterly financial statements after the company went public, from 1993 to 1998. Gottlieb received a four-year sentence.

Short Film Awards will be announced at a ceremony on January 21 at Park City's Jupiter Bowl. Feature film awards will be announced at a separate ceremony on January 25 in Park City, hosted by husband-and-wife duo Nick Offerman and Megan Mullally and livestreamed at www.sundance.org/live. Offerman headlines the film Nick Offerman: American Ham in the Festival's Premieres section. Mullally voices a character in the English-language version of Ernest and Celestine, which will have its world premiere in the Festival's new Sundance Kids section.

LOVE NEVER DIES is having its German language premiere at the moment. The semi-staged concert is temporarily taking the place of LEGALLY BLONDE at the Ronacher theater. It is supported by a 70 piece orchestra (the VBW's huge resident group). ELISABETH is still playing, so I am assuming subs are playing in the pit there. The cast was in fine voice and acting spirit. The ensemble had a West End production alum, Kieran Braun, and longtime Vienna Christine of the original (which ran 1988-1993) Colleen Bassett.

Prospect Theater Company (Cara Reichel, Producing Artistic Director / Melissa Huber, Managing Director) announces a one-show-only concert reading of their original musical The Flood, on Saturday, October 19th at 3pm. First developed by Prospect in 2000-2001, with a subsequent full production in 2006, the book, music and lyrics of this new musical are by founding company members Peter Mills and Cara Reichel. This special encore concert presentation will raise funds to support Prospect's work developing new musicals by emerging writers. The concert is directed by Cara Reichel and music directed by Daniel Feyer.

Furino, has brought Marilyn Monroe back to life ... on stage in 'Marylin ... MADNESS & Me,' which is based on an original concept by Didier Bloch, under the direction of Joe Leonardo. Opening in the Monroe Forum at the El Portal Theatre on Sept 26th for a limited run, the overwhelming response from the public and press alike, has resulted in the production's extension through October 20th, 2013, at which point the destiny of the show, with an eye on Broadway's Great White Way, will be determined. Symphony Space opens its 2013-14 Music season with 'Kurt Weill on Broadway,' tonight, October 7 (8 pm) at the Peter Jay Sharp Theatre. Today marks the 70th anniversary of the Broadway opening of Weill's One Touch of Venus. Ted Chapin hosts a stellar cast featuring Melissa Errico, Brent Barrett, Judy Blazer, and Ron Raines, plus winners of the international Lotte Lenya Competition.
Boomerang will offer new spooky programming this October with the first-time premiere Cartoon Network's original animated series, The Grim Adventures of Bill & Mandy, playing for a full hour on Saturday and Sunday nights, startingSaturday, Oct. 12 at midnight (ET). The month-long celebration of spine-tingling content also includes Boomerang's presentations of the 1964 live-action series The Munsters and 1964's The Addams Family, both of which will be telecast back-to-back on weekdays at 2:30 and 3 p.m., and weeknights at midnight (ET), respectively.
