Set firmly in, and often about, New York, Company follows five married, once married, or soon to be married couples and their mutual friend, Robert, a 35-year old bachelor who has been unable to connect in a long-term relationship. Bobby observes the less than ideal aspects of commitment. But, eventually, learns that while relationships aren't perfect, they are a necessary part of "Being Alive." Includes the songs "Getting Married Today," "The Ladies Who Lunch," and "Being Alive."



Opening on Broadway in 1970 and running 705 performances, garnering 14 Tony Award Nominations, and winning 6 Tony Awards, including Best Musical, Best Book, Best Score, Best Lyrics. Revived on Broadway in 1995 running for 60 performances garnering 2 Tony Nominations. Revived again in 2006 running 246 performances garnering 3 Tony Nominations and winning for Best Revival of a Musical.

American Theater Company (ATC) announces the restored, revised, R-rated The Original Grease. The production will run April 21 - June 5, 2011 at American Theater Company, 1909 W Byron, Chicago, IL. Press Opening is Monday, May 2, 2011. Chicago. 1959. Before two movies and three Broadway productions, summer lovin' happened on Lake Michigan and the Pink Ladies were a group of working class outsiders living on Chicago's Northwest Side. Including never-before-heard music, lyrics and scenes, author Jim Jacobs teams up with Artistic Director PJ Paparelli and Choreographer Jim Corti to bring to life for the first time since 1971 the original R-Rated version of the world's most famous movie musical.

Lon Van Eaton Announces LIVIES Live Show

Last year, owing to the CD release Come and Get It: the Best of Apple Records, Beatles' fans and the music-buying public has finally gotten reacquainted with the name of Lon Van Eaton. In 1971, Lon and his brother Derrek had formed a singing duo in their native New Jersey, when they were signed to The Beatles' Apple Records and recorded an album called Brother (1973). The album (the first-ever CD compilation of several artists signed to The Beatles' Apple label) finds Lon & Derrek in good company, including Apple-singles from James Taylor, Mary Hopkin, Billy Preston, and Badfinger, with their track 'Sweet Music.' Concurrent with that release, Lon Van Eaton announced plans for a new interactive entertainment show called Livies - Live Interactive Visual Immersion Entertainment Shows. The production features all original music and rear-and-front projected images on three domes; much akin to the ones featured on the new Paula Abdul show called Live To Dance.

The New York Philharmonic will present Stephen Sondheim's groundbreaking Company, with an all-star cast led by Neil Patrick Harris, star of the hit television series, How I Met Your Mother, on April 7-9, 2011. The award-winning musical will be produced and directed by Lonny Price, who directed and co-produced last season's SONDHEIM: The Birthday Concert!, and will be conducted by Sondheim specialist Paul Gemignani, with the original orchestrations for a 35-piece orchestra by Jonathan Tunick. More details will be announced at a later date.

As BroadwayWorld has reported, The New York Philharmonic's SONDHEIM: The Birthday Concert, which took place on March 15-16, 2010 at Avery Fisher Hall, will be broadcast on THIRTEEN'S Great Performances on PBS on Wednesday, November 24 (check local listings). WNET, Channel 13 in New York City, will air the concert at 9:30 p.m. that evening. Today, it has been revealed that the Image Entertainment will release the program DVD and Blu-Ray on November 16, 2010. The concert includes songs and orchestral pieces from Sondheim musical theater favorites such as Company, Follies, A Little Night Music, Sweeney Todd, Merrily We Roll Along, Into the Woods, and Sunday in the Park with George. Today, it has been announced that in addition to the PBS telecast, the concert will be released on DVD in November by Image Entertainment.

When Kinan Valdez, the producing artistic director of El Teatro Campesino (ETC), began planning El Teatro's 2010 season, he was inspired to use the working-title 'Raices/Roots' because many of the pieces this season are classic works-or inspired from the classic works-created in the beginnings of San Juan Bautista's world-renown, all original, theater company. At the same time, Valdez is also creating new works to add to the company's artistic arsenal. The newest work created by Valdez is ‘Corridos!!!
