The BLUEBARN Theatre launches its 2013-2014 Season with GOD OF CARNAGE by Yasmina Reza, translated by Christopher Hampton. The production opens Thursday September 26th and runs four weekends, closing Friday October 18th. BLUEBARN Producing Artistic Director Susan Clement- Toberer directs, with scenic design by Martin Scott Marchitto, costumes by Lindsay Pape, lighting design by Carol Wisner, sound design by Larry Dunn, and properties design by Amy Reiner. Shows run Thursdays-Saturdays at 7:30 p.m. and Sundays October 6th and 13th at 6 p.m. There is no show on Saturday October 19th, which is the evening of the BLUEBARN's 25th Anniversary Bash.

URINETOWN to Get West End Premiere at St. James Theatre in 2014

Urinetown the Musical, which won three Tony Awards in 2002, will premiere in the West End next year. Directed by Jamie Lloyd, the show is set to begin previews at the St. James Theatre on February 22, and run through May 3. Opening night is set for March 11.

Theatre Under The Stars (TUTS) is thrilled to announce the 45 Houston area high schoolscompeting in the 12th annual Tommy Tune Awards. Developed by TUTS in 2002, the Tommy Tune Awards honor musical theatre excellence at the high school level, celebrating outstanding student achievement in 15 categories. During the 2013-2014 school year, a team of Houston-based theatre professionals will evaluate the participating high schools' productions and announce the winners at a Tony Awards-style ceremony to be heldApril 16, 2014 at the Hobby Center for the Performing Arts. The event will spotlight musical numbers from the nominated shows as well as reveal the winning performers, directors, choreographers, orchestras and designers who have defined excellence throughout the 2013-2014 school year. The Best Leading Actor and Actress, the most prestigious recognitions of the Tommy Tune Awards, will represent TUTS in an all-expense paid trip as they go on to compete at the national level for the Jimmy Award at the National High School Musical Theater Awards in New York City in June 2014.

San Jose Stage Company and Broadway San Jose are pleased to announce the winners of the Bay Area High School Musical Theatre Awards. Two Bay Area students, Rodd Fahardi from Los Gatos High School and Myha'la Herrold from Archbishop Mitty High School, were also chosen for Outstanding Performance by an Actor and Actress in a musical to participate in the National High School Musical Theatre Awards: 2013 JIMMY Awards, where they will perform at The Minskoff Theatre, the Broadway stage that currently houses The Lion King.

Led by Principal Pops Conductor Steven Reineke, the performances feature performances by Jeremy Jordan, Norm Lewis, Julia Murney, Jennifer Laura Thompson, and The Washington Chorus. The performances celebrate Stephen Schwartz's 65th birthday as well as the 10th anniversary of the perennially 'popular' Wicked, and Mr. Schwartz will make a special appearance in each of the three programs, performing and sharing stories of the creation of Wicked.

The Acting Company Announces Upcoming Season

"John Rando (Urinetown, A Christmas Story, Lincoln Centers's Carousel, All in the Timing) will direct Rosencrantz and Guildenstern are Dead for The Acting Company," announced its producer, Margot Harley. Tom Stoppard's TONY-winning play will run off-Broadway in rotating repertory with Hamlet, directed by Ian Belknap,beginning in January 2014. Prior to New York, Hamlet will play a fall tour of western states beginning at Cal State-Northridge. A national tour of both plays, including an extended stay at the Guthrie Theater in Minneapolis, begins in February. This is the 41st season and tour for The Acting Company, the sixth tour in association with the Guthrie.

According to the Washington Post, Signature Theatre's 2013-14 season will include three world premiere musicals, one world-premiere play, a developmental run of a world-premiere musical, and revivals of Miss Saigon, Gypsy and The Threepenny Opera. Signature's Artistic Director Eric Schaeffer will be directing all four of the new musicals, as well as Miss Saigon.
