Building on the success of its 2009 theatre season, which saw record attendance despite the economic downturn, Shakespeare's Globe announces plans for its 2010 theatre season, entitled ‘Kings and Rogues'. The season will open on Shakespeare's birthday - 23 April - and embrace some of the playwright's most regal rogues and some of his most roguish kings.

The Guerrilla Shakespeare Project will bring William Shakespeare's rarely produced, controversial, tragicomedy THE TWO NOBLE KINSMEN to the Medicine Show Theatre on January 7 to 17, 2010.

Ignite your passion with William Shakespeare, Jane Austen, Alfred Hitchcock, Anne Frank, and Charles Dickens - all featured in the 2010 season at the Utah Shakespearean Festival (300 W. Center Street, Cedar City, UT).

The New York Philharmonic will present SONDHEIM: The Birthday Concert on March 15 and Tuesday, March 16, 2010, at 7:30 p.m. This celebration of the 80th birthday of the great Broadway and film composer/lyricist will include his most enduring orchestral music and songs - performed, in some cases, by the stars of the original Broadway cast productions - in addition to rarely-heard material. Joining the celebration will be (in alphabetical order) Michael Cerveris, Victoria Clark, Jason Danieley, Nathan Gunn, George Hearn, Patti LuPone, Marin Mazzie, Audra McDonald, Donna Murphy, Mandy Patinkin, Bernadette Peters, and others to be announced, including surprise guests. Paul Gemignani, Mr. Sondheim's longtime collaborator, will conduct the New York Philharmonic; Lonny Price is the director; and Mr. Price and Matt Cowart are the producers.

The 2009-2010 National Geographic Live Arizona speaker series, sponsored by Blue Cross Blue Shield of Arizona, brings National Geographic photographer, Paul Nicklen, to Mesa Arts Center on Wednesday, Dec. 2, at 7:30 p.m. in the Ikeda Theater.

Broadway star, Tony, Grammy and Golden Globe Award winner, Bernadette Peters will pen a second children's book, Stella is a Star, set for publishing and release in the spring of 2010 by Blue Apple Books. The book, inspired by Peters' dog Stella, will feature illustrations by Liz Murphy. Proceeds will go to Broadway Barks, the charitable organization co-founded by Peters and Mary Tyler Moore over over 10 year ago in support of animal shelters.

Artistic Directors Andrew Upton and Cate Blanchett today unveiled their 2010 program for Sydney Theatre Company offering audiences fresh explorations of classic texts, new works and adaptations, an accent on international collaborations and introductions to new artists and companies from around Australia.

Pittsburgh Irish and Classical Theatre will turn to the fertile landscape of dreams and the dark underworld of nightmares next year with a world premier musical, Shakespeare, a blow-out festival of the works of Harold Pinter, a holiday comedy, and the popular Storytellers Series. The 2010 season runs April-August, with a special family-friendly December production in time for the holidays. PICT begins its 'Dreams and Nightmares' season with a World Premier music drama by local star Martin Giles. Beautiful Dreamers features the songs of a local who became an international legend - Stephen Foster. The season continues with an intense, intimate production of Shakespeare's masterful Othello in the Henry Heymann Theatre; Hearing Noise in the Silence: A celebration of the life and theatre of Harold Pinter, featuring the hilariously dark comedy The Hothouse and the resonant, haunting No Man's Land, as well as The Room, Celebration, The Dumb Waiter and Betrayal; and wraps up with Harold Brighouse's Victorian comedy Hobson's Choice. The Storytellers Series continues this year with Pinteresque, featuring works by some of the top American and British playwrights who were inspired by the great Harold Pinter. Pinteresque will include directed readings of Joe Penhall's Blue/Orange, Jez Butterworth's The Night Heron, Sam Shepard's Geography of a Horse Dreamer, and Joe Orton's The Ruffian on the Stair.

Theater for the New City's special production of 'Duet for Solo Voice' by David Scott Milton, directed by Stanley Allan Sherman and acted by Jonathan Slaff, which was originally set for September 24 to October 11, 2009, has been rescheduled to January 28 to February 14, 2010.
