Mill 6 Presents the New England Premiere of Bunbury: A Serious Play for Trivial People
Opens May 1st 2009, at the Factory Theatre in Boston
When he finds out that he is only a fictitious character who never appears in The Importance of Being Earnest, Bunbury uses his double anonymity to infiltrate and alter classic literature, starting by accidentally giving Romeo and Juliet a happy ending.
Phoenix Theatre will present a star-studded cast, including some of Phoenix's favorite actors, when Stephen Sondheim's Company opens on April 22, 2009 for a limited engagement. Company follows on the heals of Phoenix Theatre's biggest hit in its 88 year history, Les Miserables.

South Coast Repertory will open its 2009-2010 season with a celebration of the music of Broadway legend Stephen Sondheim and will shine the spotlight later in the season on the up-and-coming musical theater composer and lyricist, Adam Gwon. A Noise Within (ANW), the acclaimed repertory theatre company, stages Henrik Ibsen?s Ghosts, a haunting tale of unrequited passion, revelation and horror, which opens Saturday, March 21 and runs through Saturday, May 9, 2009 (previews begin Saturday, March 14). Directed by Michael Murray, the cast features Mark Bramhall (Estrand), Alex Feldman (Oswald), Rebecca Mozzo (Regina), Deborah Strang (Mrs. Alving) and Joel Swetow (Manders).
David Leveaux will direct a cast including Samantha Bond, Nancy Carroll, Jessie Cave, Neil Pearson, Dan Stevens and Ed Stoppard in a new production of Tom Stoppard's multi award-winning play Arcadia. Previewing at the Duke of York's Theatre from 27 May, with press night on 11 June, Arcadia is currently booking until 12 September 2009. Set designs are by Hildegard Bechtler, costume design is by Amy Roberts, lighting is by Paul Anderson and sound is by Simon Baker. The Van Wezel Performing Arts Hall today announced its roster for the 2009-10 Orchestra/Classical Music Series.
The series features renowned ensembles and soloists from around the globe. They include violin virtuoso Itzhak Perlman (in concert Mar. 1, 2010) and piano megastar Lang Lang (performing as the soloist with the Schleswig-Holstein Festival Orchestra under the baton of Christoph Eschenbach on Mar. 30, 2010).
In one of the most exciting theater events of the current season, The Year of Magical Thinking, the stage adaptation of Joan Didion's bestselling memoir, has its Connecticut premiere at TheaterWorks. One of the true luminaries of American theater, Annalee Jefferies, stars in this recent Broadway hit, which will be directed by Steve Campo.
