Arena Stage at the Mead Center for American Theater has just announced the full company of You, Nero by American Voices New Play Institute resident playwright and Pulitzer Prize finalist Amy Freed. This is the second project of a resident playwright to be produced at Arena Stage as part of the three-year residencies through the Institute. Making his Arena Stage debut is director Nicholas Martin (Broadway's Present Laughter, Butley). You, Nero runs November 25, 2011-January 1, 2012 in the Fichandler Stage.

Lincoln Center Theater (under the direction of Andre Bishop, Artistic Director, and Bernard Gersten, Executive Producer) has announced final casting for its upcoming production of John Guare's new play A FREE MAN OF COLOR. Justina Machada (HBO's Six Feet Under and Broadway's , In The Heights) and veteran actor John McMartin (Follies, Into The Woods, Showboat, Sweet Charity) will join Paul Dano, mos and Jeffrey Wright in the production, to be directed by George C. Wolfe.

The awards will be presented at a ceremony on Friday, May 4, at 6:30pm, at the Hudson Theatre (145 West 44th Street). Ms. Robbins was selected to receive the 2012 TDF/Irene Sharaff Lifetime Achievement Award for costume design, and Mr. Burlingame will receive the Robert L.B. FOX's I Hate My Teenage Daughter, starring Katie Finneran, has been canceled, Entertainment Weekly reports. The comedy will play its final episode of the season on Tuesday, April 3. A recent episode of the show only garnered 3.6 million viewers and a 1.4 rating among adults aged 18-49. FOX may air the remaining episodes over the summer.

The Old Globe today named director Nicholas Martin an Associate Artist of The Old Globe. He is the 56th artist to receive the prestigious honor recognizing over half a century of his unique contributions to the institution both on and offstage. After making his acting debut in 1957 as the Fool in King Lear, Martin went on to appear on the Globe stage in 18 additional productions, including The Merry Wives of Windsor (1965), The School for Scandal (1989) and Hamlet (1960 and 1990). As a director, he helmed the Globe productions of Later Life, Full Gallop, Overtime, Macbeth and The Mask of Moriarty. The Old Globe is currently celebrating the 100th anniversary of George Bernard Shaw's Pygmalion with Martin's production of Shaw's masterwork, which runs through Feb. 17. Deadline.com reports that Katie Finneran has joined the cast of I Hate My Teenage Daughter for the new Fox comedy, I Hate My Teenage Daughter. Sherry Bilsing-Graham and Ellen Kreamer have written and will produce the pilot. According to the report, I Hate My Teenage Daughter 'centers on two women, Annie and Nikki (Finneran), who now have daughters just like the girls who picked on them in high school.'

The Old Globe today announced the complete cast and creative team of its 100th anniversary production of the George Bernard Shaw classic Pygmalion. Starring Tony Award winner Robert Sean Leonard (The Invention of Love, Born Yesterday) as Professor Henry Higgins and Charlotte Parry (The Importance of Being Earnest, The Real Thing) as Eliza Doolittle, the production coincides with the 100th anniversary of Pygmalion's 1913 premiere in Vienna, Austria. The Old Globe's 2012-13 Season will feature the World Premieres of two new musicals: Allegiance - A New American Musical by Jay Kuo and Lorenzo Thione and A Gentleman's Guide to Love and Murder by Robert L. Freedman and Steven Lutvak. The season also includes George Bernard Shaw's Pygmalion in celebration of the classic play's 100th anniversary and the World Premiere of a new adaptation of Henrik Ibsen's A Doll's House by Anne-Charlotte Hanes Harvey and Kirsten Brandt. Two recent Broadway hits will make their San Diego debuts at the Globe: David Lindsay-Abaire's Good People and Jon Robin Baitz's Other Desert Cities. Rounding out the season are the West Coast Premiere of Bekah Brunstetter's Be a Good Little Widow and the Southern California Premiere of Tarell Alvin McCraney's The Brothers Size.

Clarence Coo has been chosen by playwright John Guare as the winner of the 2012 Yale Drama Series for his play Beautiful Province. Selected from over 1100 plays submitted from 24 countries, Beautiful Province, as the winner of this year's Yale Drama Series Award, will be published by Yale University Press. On Tuesday, September 18 Mr. Coo will be honored at a reception at Lincoln Center Theater where he will receive the David C. Horn prize of $10,000 which will be immediately followed by a staged reading of Beautiful Province. Runner-ups for the 2012 Yale Drama Series were Saviana Stanescu, for her playUseless, and Jesse Weaver, for his play We Shall Catch Larks.
