From January 14-March 24, 2018, Carnegie Hall presents The '60s: The Years that Changed America, a citywide festival exploring the turbulent decade that was the 1960s through the lens of arts and culture, including music's role as a meaningful vehicle to inspire social change.

Artistic Director Nina Lee Aquino is proud to announce the Factory 2017-2018 Season. The highly successful and critically acclaimed Naked Season of 2015-2016 challenged Canadian classics by zeroing in on their core theatrical essence; 2016-2017's Beyond the Great White North Season featured intercultural perspectives on what it means to be Canadian and spawned an artist-led social media movement; the third season under Nina's visionary artistic leadership builds on the successes of the past two seasons with a selection of plays that contemplate the different ways stories are told.

In partnership with UTS, Sydney Festival has worked closely with academics, Indigenous elders, artists and advisors to create a series of forums for topical discussions around culture and expression. Focussing on language, history and dance the UTS Big Thinking Forums will explore issues of Indigenous culture, Australian history and the future of a number of artistic, cultural and environmental issues for practitioners, curators and audiences in the arts community.

The Museum of Anthropology (MOA) at UBC is pleased to present the return of the playful and insightfulTaiwanese Puppet Festival, November 3-8, 2016. This year MOA has invited two award-winning puppetry ensembles The Happy Puppetry Company and Puppet & Its Double Theater who will share their unique traditional and contemporary approaches to puppet theatre. The festival includes two days of public performances as well as a cultural exchange with First Nations artist Connie Watts. The festival is a featured event in Spotlight Taiwan, which explores Taiwanese culture as expressed through its performing arts, visual arts, living cultural representatives, and rich heritage. Spotlight Taiwan is supported by the Ministry of Culture, Republic of China (Taiwan).

Previn, who has been called one of America's least easily categorized musicians, began his remarkable career as a Hollywood "wunderkind" and a best-selling jazz pianist. Now 86, Previn has received four Academy Awards for his work in film, 10 Grammy Awards for his recordings (plus one more for his Lifetime Achievement), and he is also an honorary Knight Commander of the Order of the British Empire. He's held a series of major conducting posts, including the L.A. Philharmonic and the London Symphony Orchestra, but now exclusively composes. The concert is led by Music Director Carl St.Clair, whose great admiration for the legend shaped this year's ACF to reveal the scope of Previn's prowess as a composer.

On the 60th anniversary of its last major survey of modern architecture in Latin America, The Museum of Modern Art returns its focus to the region with Latin America in Construction: Architecture 1955-1980, a complex overview of the positions, debates, and architectural creativity from the Rio Grande to Tierra del Fuego, from Mexico to Cuba to the Southern Cone, between 1955 and 1980. On view March 29 through July 19, 2015, Latin America in Construction is organized by Barry Bergdoll, Curator, and Patricio del Real, Curatorial Assistant, Department of Architecture and Design, MoMA; Jorge Francisco Liernur, Universidad Torcuato di Tella, Buenos Aires, Argentina; and Carlos Eduardo Comas, Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Sul, Porto Alegre, Brazil; with the assistance of an advisory committee from across Latin America.

Fans of THE DOORS will savor the news about the November 11 street date of a never-before-released documentary film produced by the band. Titled Feast of Friends, the intimate and rare look at the explosive rock band is, after 45 years, finally being released.

From September 4-14, 2014, Houston Ballet launches its 45th season with the company premiere of John Neumeier's three-act ballet A Midsummer Night's Dream. The ballet is based on Shakespeare's lighthearted play of the same name and follows the hijinks and hilarity that ensues when a well-intentioned plan with a love potion goes awry. Created in 1977, A Midsummer Night's Dream has served as Mr. Neumeier's calling card, being seen as one of his most joyous and popular creations. Houston Ballet is the first American ballet company to perform the famous work and it is the first piece by Mr. Neumeier to enter the Houston Ballet repertoire.

Described as 'a scorching masterpiece,' Edward Albee's A Delicate Balance is a riveting, funny, and thought-provoking examination of family and friends is one of the most successful plays in American theatre and all too rarely produced in Austin. Guest director Fritz Ketchum leads the production with show dates May 2 - 25, 2014 at City Theatre.
