The first North American tour of the Tony Award-winning Broadway revival of THE COLOR PURPLE begins tonight, October 7, 2017 in Schenectady, New York at Proctors. The tour will have its official opening October 17, 2017 in Baltimore, Maryland at The Hippodrome Theatre.

Final casting is announced to join multi award-winning Josie Lawrence, one of the UK's best-loved actors and comedians, in a new production of Mother Courage and her Children.

Playhouse on Park continues its Season Nine Comedy Series on Saturday, October 14. Tickets are now on sale for the show featuring co-headliners Jim Mendrinos and Carol Montgomery.

The premiere of TV One's original film, WHEN LOVE KILLS: THE FALICIA BLAKELY STORY, brought in 1.2 million unique viewers (1.6 million unique viewers for the night). When Love Kills now ranks as TV One's #1 original movie premiere of all time among all key demos: HH: 1.00/598K| P2+: 0.49/759K| P25-54: 0.69/409K. This was also TV One's best Monday Prime Performance of all time among P25-54.

It's been a banner year for Fringe. The 2017 Toronto Fringe Festival was the highest selling festival in its 29-year history, selling 68,312 tickets to theatre-lovers. Since Fringe returns 100% of the net box office to its 160 producing companies, this means that we will deposit a record $519,707 into the bank accounts of indie artists in the coming weeks. This is the first time Toronto Fringe has broken over $500,000 in its payout to artists.

Nashville's Artist's Cooperative Theatre 1 (ACT 1) will kick off its 29th season this fall with a production of Delia Ephron and Nora Ephron's Love, Loss and What I Wore, playing the iconic Darkhorse Theater October 6-21. The five plays and their directors, which make up the new season, were revealed to the opening night audience of ACT 1's 2016-17 season closing production of Reefer Madness the Musical, which runs through June 24.

The Mac-Haydn Theatre (MHT), after a successful run of Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, continues its 49th season with the 2004 musical comedy Dirty Rotten Scoundrels. Based off of the 1988 movie of the same name, the 10-time Tony nominated musical by David Yazbek and Jeffrey Lane will be a MHT premiere.

European Literature Night (ELN) comes to Bohemian National Hall in New York City on June 2 from 7-10pm, with actors performing a curated selection of passages from fifteen exceptional literary works of fiction and poetry from across the European continent. The selected books will be available in a book fair along with other international titles.

The Ridgefield Playhouse and Ridgefield Magazine Broadway and Cabaret Series presents a night with the Legendary Tony Award-winning actor Ben Vereen on Sunday, May 21 at 8 p.m.

Yale Repertory Theatre (James Bundy, Artistic Director; Victoria Nolan, Managing Director) concludes its 50th Anniversary Season with the world premiere of MARY JANE by Amy Herzog, directed by Anne Kauffman, April 28 through May 20 at Yale Repertory Theatre (1120 Chapel Street). Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater, beloved as one of the world's most popular dance companies, will return to Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts for a seven-performance engagement at the David H.
