ABC Family has acquired the Walt Disney Pictures film 'Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides' from Disney-ABC Domestic Television, it was announced today by Tom Zappala, executive vice president, Program Acquisitions & Scheduling, ABC Cable Networks Group.

Hollywood's legendary El Capitan Theatre is offering 'Pirates' pleasures galore, including set pieces, props and costumes from Walt Disney Pictures and Jerry Bruckheimer Films' new epic adventure, 'Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides,' in Disney Digital 3DTM and RealDTM 3D, during its special engagement from May 20th through June 22nd, it was announced today by Lylle Breier, senior vice president of worldwide special events for Disney

The story Pirates will hold their third annual AFTER SCHOOL SPECIAL benefit on May 20 at Peter Norton Syphony Space. Set to make appearances are Ana Gasteyer, John Oliver, Kristen Schaal and Jon Stewart. In addition to the presentatio of a sketch comedy show, the event will also include a silent auction.

Disney Junior, a new multiplatform destination for kids age 2-7, one that reflects the emotional connection generations of consumers have to Disney storytelling and Disney characters, both classic and contemporary, will debut MONDAY, FEBRUARY 14 (8:30 a.m., ET/PT), anchored by the new animated series 'Jake and the Never Land Pirates.' Five other new series also join the Disney Junior schedule: the short form titles 'Mickey Mousekersize,' 'Special Agent Oso: Three Healthy Steps' (supporting Disney's Magic of Healthy Living initiative) and 'A Poem Is...' (narrated by Jennifer Garner and Katie Holmes, among other familiar voices), and full length series 'Babar and the Adventures of Badou' and 'Tinga Tinga Tales.' Baltimore theatergoers may be pardoned for not being familiar - yet - with the Atlas District in North East Washington, but this emerging arts-and-entertainment area, focused on about four blocks of H Street, is well worth getting to know. The core is the Atlas Performing Arts Center, an Art Deco movie house that was impeccably redeveloped in 2006 after 30 years as a derelict. And surely there could hardly be a better way of making the Atlas' acquaintance than seeing the Washington Savoyards' revival of the 1879 Gilbert and Sullivan hit, The Pirates of Penzance playing there now.

The show, which presents a group of pirates gleefully infiltrating a small village brings the audience into a world filled with colorful costumes, clever music, mayhem and plenty of tom-foolery.
