'20 YEARS OF DOGME 95' Cinema Series Launches Tonight at MAD

This month, the Museum of Arts and Design is pleased to present The Director Must Not Be Credited: 20 Years of Dogme 95, a cinema series exploring the enduring legacy of the game-changing film movement. Premiering tonight, March 13, 2015, the twentieth anniversary of Danish filmmakers Lars von Trier and Thomas Vinterberg's revolutionary manifesto, the series features nine, rarely screened films recognized by the Dogme 95 committee --many of which never received US distributions. Together, these films highlight the growth of Dogme 95 into a worldwide movement that spanned genres and forever changed the ways in which narrative feature films are made.

Mixing its rich Pacific Island heritage with contemporary choreography, New Zealand's Black Grace brings intensity, artistry and prowess to Dance Celebration. Performances take place tonight, February 12 at 7:30 PM, Friday, February 13 at 8 PM and Saturday, February 14 at 2 PM and 8 PM at the Annenberg Center, 3680 Walnut Street. Tickets are $20-$50. Mauricio Cañete, Founder and director of MC Dance Productions, today announced that international ballet stars Adiarys Almeida and Randy Herrera will join more than 50 talented dancers from 16 different dance academies to perform in the 2nd annual FLORIDA YOUTH DANCE GALA. The dance-packed event will be held at the Duncan Theatre, located on the Lake Worth campus of Palm Beach State College, tonight, February 7, at 7:30 p.m. The upcoming Gala is being sponsored by Só Dança USA, a leading provider of quality dance supplies.

After the critical success of its recent Lucille Lortel Award winning Off-Broadway production of Martin Moran's All the Rage (produced with piece by piece productions), acclaimed new play company Rising Phoenix Repertory presents the world premiere of RPR Company Member Sarah Shaefer's new play F**king Immaculate. Building on the company's successful downtown site-specific play series Cino Nights, Rising Phoenix Rep is attempting to grow and expand on its innovative development/production process for new plays, building in a longer rehearsal period and focusing on an even more intimate and immersive experience for artists and audiences alike. The plays will be staged in an Upper West Side apartment to be disclosed to patrons who make reservations in advance. Seating is strictly limited to ten people per night.
