Jessica Brown Findlay (Sonya), Vanessa Kirby (Elena), Richard Lumsden (Telegin), Hilton McRae (Serebryakov), Tobias Menzies (Astrov) and Ann Queensberry (Nanny) join the previously announced Paul Rhys (Vanya) in Chekhov's Uncle Vanya, a new version created by and directed by Associate Director, Robert Icke, at the Almeida Theatre. Running from 5 February until 26 March 2016, with press night on 12 February, Uncle Vanya is Icke's next production following the critically acclaimed Oresteia, which ran at the Almeida Theatre, transferred to the West End, and recently won him the Evening Standard Award for Best Director.

Snapdragon Productions and Theatre Bench announce the full cast for the world premiere of Teddy at the Southwark Playhouse. Will Payne plays 1950s heartthrob Johnny Valentine, lead singer of rock 'n' roll band The Broken Hearts, whose blistering live performance of Dougal Irvine's songs, underscores the show. The Broken Hearts line-up is completed by Alexander Bean, Alice Offley and Harrison White, who also takes the role of Musical Director.
The full cast is announced today for The Father, transferring to the Tricycle Theatre following a hugely successful, critically acclaimed run last year at the Ustinov Studio in Bath. Following Mr Burns and 1984, Almeida Associate Director Robert Icke directs Tobias Menzies (Game of Thrones) in a site specific staging of Wallace Shawn's The Fever. Shawn's searing monologue will be performed for an audience of 28 in the intimate surroundings of a suite at The May Fair Hotel.
The play Our Country's Good had its opening night last night at the Royal Alexandra Theatre in Toronto. The play, which has been brought across the pond by presenter David Mirvish is about a colony of convicts who are cast in a play by an officer of the navy at the urging of his captain. Of course, not all members of the colony take kindly to the sentiment of using convicts as actors over laborers. Ultimately, the underdogs do triumph and the play is a hit.
