The Lakewood Playhouse Names Nena Curley New Production Manager

By:

The LAKEWOOD PLAYHOUSE is proud to announce the promotion of NENA CURLEY from the position of Production Manager for the Lakewood Institute of Theatre to the full time position as Production Manager for the Lakewood Playhouse.

Nena Curley, who is a native of Tacoma, has a long history with the Lakewood Playhouse. She started as actress in both its Youth Theatre Program and Main Stage. She also found her calling in Stage Management through both of those venues. She took her many years of volunteering at both the Playhouse and TACOMA LITTLE THEATRE and applied them to her studies at the College of Idaho; where she would receive her BFA in Theatre.

Since receiving her degree, Nena has been very active, and sought after, Stage Manager at local theatres in both Pierce and King Counties.

"I believe that Nena is the perfect choice to expand upon the excellent Production values that were established by our previous Production Manager, HALLY PHILLIPS," said Managing Artistic Director, JOHN MUNN, "Nena's abilities as both Stage Manager and Production Manager seem custom fit to the needs of the Lakewood Playhouse. Her abilities will both enhance our currently existing Production values and create even more opportunities for the training of both our current, and future, Stage Managers."

Over the past two years she has been an instrumental part of the Lakewood Institute of Theatre - The educational arm of the Lakewood Playhouse. She has worked under two of its Education Directors, CASI WILKERSON and JEFRI PETERS, and in the last year served as the Institute's Production Manager.

"I look forward to the many new opportunities that she will bring to our Production Teams and Stage Managers," Munn concluded "Her guidance will not only benefit the Lakewood Playhouse, and our Lakewood Institute of Theatre, but the other many local theatres as well."

The Administration, Board and Staff of the Lakewood Playhouse to congratulate Nena Curley in her promotion and ask you welcome her to her expanded role within the Lakewood Playhouse Family.
