AS YOU LIKE IT by Seattle Shakespeare Company is a grab bag of experiences. It has moments of delight mixed with quite a few confusing bits. The show takes a while to get going, but then the comedy pulls it along with fresh energy. At times it seemed as if some of the characters were in a different show altogether, projecting a very different tone and vibe. The visuals were both appealing in sets and confusing in costumes. The acting carried the day, but in the end the show left your scratching your head.

Based on the short story by Isak Dinesen (and made famous by the 1987 Academy Award-winning film), Babette's Feast will begin performances Wednesday March 14th at the Theatre at Saint Clement's (423 West 46th Street, between Ninth & Tenth Avenues) for an open-ended Off-Broadway engagement. Opening Night is set for Sunday March 25th (5pm). The performance runs 90 minutes with no intermission.

Award-winning playwright Jonathan Josephson (Milwaukee Rep, Humana Festival) and director Jonathan Harper Schlieman (Actors Theatre of Louisville) have announced their latest collaboration: the east coast premiere of The Giant and The Pixie, fairy tale for grown ups. The play received its world premiere at Chance Theater in Anaheim, CA where it received a StageSceneLA award for Best Ensemble. The play was also named as a Finalist for the Eugene O'Neill National Playwrights Conference.
