PBH Free Fringe Introduce Access For All Shows

PBH Free Fringe Introduce Access For All Shows

PBH Free Fringe introduce Access For All shows.

We all know Edinburgh can be hard enough to navigate after 2 beers, let alone if you're not fully mobile. This year PBH Free Fringe is pleased to announce a special roster of rotating shows in a venue offering full disabled access.

Some of our most popular acts that normally perform in venues unable to provide disabled access have joined forces to provide extra one off performances at a central location - Revolution.

The shows will also welcome able-bodied people and of course as it's part of the PBH'S Free Fringe - It's Free!

Acts include, Lloyd Langford, Dominic Holland, Miranda Kane, Susan Harrison, Men With Coconuts, Stuart Goldsmith, Eleanor Tiernan and many more.

This is the first year we've been able to do something of this kind and we hope to grow the scheme in future years.

Who? You can see the full line up and timetable via the PBH website - http://freefringe.org.uk/access-for-all

Where? Revolution (Venue 224) 30A Chambers St, Edinburgh, EH1 1HU - https://www.revolutionbars.co.uk/bar/edinburgh/

When? This timetable is continuous between 4th-25th of August. Visit - http://freefringe.org.uk/access-for-all - for the full timetable.

About the Free Fringe - The Free Fringe was started on the Edinburgh Festival Fringe in 1996, by Peter Buckley Hill. Disheartened by what he saw as unreasonable hire charges for venues and high-ticket prices for the public, PBH (as he is more commonly known) tried a new model for putting on shows. Instead of paying for a venue and charging for tickets, there should be no hire charge and free entrance for everyone. If the audience like the show, they put a voluntary donation in a bucket at the end.

Fortunately, a lot of people seem to like this model, which is why PBH's Free Fringe is now the biggest producer at the Edinburgh Festival, with over 440 shows and 7,800 performances in 2014 and the total rising every year. It's fair to say that the Free Fringe has totally transformed Edinburgh, and now attracts big comedy names, produces award winners, and is the most dynamic thing to happen to the festival since the beginning of the Fringe.
