EDINBURGH 2018: BWW Q&A- Darren Harriott

BWW catches up with Dan Harriott to talk about taking Visceral to the 2018 Edinburgh Festival Fringe.

Tell us a bit about Visceral.

The show has ranging themes from masculinity, race, gangs and government and everything else in between I want people to learn more about my upbringing and who I am this time round.

Why is it important for you to tell these stories?

I feel my stories are unique and very relevant for today's world, me coming from a black working class background in Birmingham I feel that gives me a unique starting ground.

Where might we recognise you from?

Mock the Week, Live at the Apollo, some other stuff. I have been busy the last few months.

Who would you recommend comes to see Visceral?
Everyone! I'm trying to make the show for all ages and crowds.

What do you hope audiences take away from the show?

That people can change in particular young boys trying to fit in and the dumb things they do

See Darren Harriott: Visceral at the Pleasance Courtyard throughout the Edinburgh Festival Fringe from 1st - 26th August. For tickets visit www.edfringe.com
