Tell us a bit about As If I Hadn't Slept.

As If I Hadn't Slept is my sophomore stand-up show. It's a show about finding happiness, challenging yourself and being content with who you are all in the hopes of sleeping better. It contains true stories, examinations and ruminations on day to day life, and a shed load of jokes.

Why bring it to Edinburgh?
I love the Fringe. There is nowhere in the UK you can perform for an hour every day, every day, for a whole month apart from Edinburgh. It's the best place to hone your stuff (note to self, next show title 'HONE YOUR STUFF'). Whether it's performing in my sketch group Gein's Family Giftshop, with the kids show Funz and Gamez or stand-up, I look forward to August every year.

Having performed last year do you think you know what to expect from the festival?
This will be my 5th year in a row and the only thing I've learnt is that you never know what to expect. Whether it's a man winning the jackpot on the quiz machine during a gig on the free fringe, or a surpise nomination for an Edinburgh award, as long as you keep on open mind and stay optimistic things will be ok.

What sets it apart from other shows at the Fringe?
Well I might be one of ten billion white male stand-ups that perform at the fringe but I'm not privately educated (waves at your from his Mum's council house whilst eating a findus crispy pancake), and I'm never forcing an opinion down your throat like I'm better than you. I like to think that I'm funny whilst being honest and open about my experiences. A reviewer described me as "Refreshingly Nonchalant' which I think is accurate.

Who would you recommend comes to see you?
Erm, I don't know. Everyone can enjoy what I do I think? Let's see...
Ok. I've got it...
If you've ever stared out of a window on a train whilst listening to music and thinking wistfully about existence, but also laughed when someone fell over on said train due to it stopping suddenly then I'm probably the comedian for you.
