We speak to comedian Des Bishop about his 2016 Edinburgh Fringe show Grey Matters.
Tell us a bit about 'Grey Matters'.
Grey Matters is a straight stand up show about getting older, watching other people raise their kids and coming to terms with the fact that I am now an "in my day" guy.
What inspired the show?
The main inspiration was being around so many people and their kids. I don't have any so I have the luxury of being a backseat parent. I am like a sports radio call in guy criticising the best athletes in the world from my couch.
Tell us a bit about your career so far.
Famous in Ireland, moderately successful everywhere else in the world.
Who would you recommend comes to see 'Grey Matters'?
Everyone. For people my age it is pure nostalgia, for a 20 year old it is like the best college course you could ever pick. Something like "The world before the Internet."
Are there any other shows you're hoping to see at the festival?
I am hoping to see Chris Kent and Drew Fralick. Drew has an interesting story because he in based in Shanghai and works in the Chinese mental health system.
