Catriona Knox has created an excellent hour of character comedy. First up is a right-wing wartime chef who has no time for feminism. For her cookery programme she summons Mike from the audience to act as her sous chef and directs him through the process of making a thoroughly disgusting concoction.

I don't think I've ever seen audience participation taken to this level. I feel as though audience member Mike deserves equal billing in this review.

Our next character is an American personality who has studied psychology and is now hosting her own TED talk. She calls her best friend Gail onto stage to assist her. Guess who Gail is? Once again Mike (who may be the best sport I've encountered) takes to the stage to help.

Catriona Knox also draws inspiration from real life, performing as Prince George and Nick Clegg. A couple of the sketches run a little too long for me but most of them are spot on. Knox is a versatile and talented performer who has created an interesting hour of character comedy.

Catriona Knox Thinks She's Hard Enough runs at the Pleasance Courtyard until August 25th.
