EVA RYSOVÁ, TEATRO NOD AND CZECH CENTRE LONDON present SIX BILLION SUNS, a play inspired by Alzheimer's disease and picked as one of The Guardian Newspaper Edinburgh Fringe 2014 Hot Tickets. SIX BILLION SUNS, directed by Eva Rysová and dramatized by Ondej Novotný will perform at ZOO (The Monkey House) 8th - 16th August at 14:30 (running time: 60mins).

Inspired by Alzheimer´s disease and dramatized by Ondej Novotný, this original and powerful production - nominated for the Best Production of 2013 in Czech Theatre News´ opinion poll - explores the extinction of our personal universe when black holes start to expand in our memory and memories fade to black.

Directed by Eva Rysová, with original music by Pawe Passini (recipient of a Total Theatre Award and Herald Angel in 2011), Six Billion Suns is full to the brim with emotion. It tells an authentic story, collected from Alzheimer sufferers and their relatives, of the everyday life of the terminally forgetful. At times absurdly comical then deeply moving, Six Billion Suns will take you on an emotional journey from laughter to tears in the space of a moment as the ensemble cast grapple the devastation of dementia and the inevitability of loved ones fading away slice by slice.

A strange, altered reality takes shape on the stage, reminiscent of ´Alice in Wonderland´ as main character, Augusta, played by 70 year old actress Viera Pavlíková whose failing memory is experienced by five young people as they immerse themselves into the bizarre, strange but often delightful world of the forgetful.

Commenting on the play Producer, Eva Dryjová said "The birth of the script was preceded by a year-long research on the subject of Alzheimer's which culminated in a three-day stay in homes of those affected by dementia. The daily contact, care and fun the cast had with the patients was a constant source of creative inspiration and truly informs their performance. It is my hope that ´Six Billion Suns´ will provide audiences with an extraordinary experience to remember."
