Studio Theatre is pleased to announce the final extension of Million Dollar Quartet through January 15 in the Gompertz Theatre. This explosive and energetic production brings audiences up close to some of music's biggest icons, before they were stars. Subscriptions are still available to see four shows for as little as $59. Single tickets range from $56-$59. Subscriptions and single tickets may be purchased by calling the Box Office at (941) 366-9000 or online at www.floridastudiotheatre.org.

Playing the role of the one and only Elvis Presley is Joe Boover. Boover further comments on the audience reactions night after night. "It's amazing to have an audience that really appreciates this music. During certain songs I look out and see people of every age dancing around like they're all teenagers."

Director Jason Cannon also speaks to this relationship between audience and actor stating, "We suspected this show would connect with our audience, not only because the music is such a touchstone for many, but also because of our intimate Gompertz Theatre and FST's minimalist approach to storytelling. This enabled the characters and the relationships to manifest fully. The actors connected to the lyrics, and then shared that connection in the most fundamental and important way: In relationship with a live audience just a few feet away. The joy and fun of the music is grounded in deeply realized humanity."

in the "Home of the Blues" and "Birthplace of Rock and Roll," Memphis, Tennessee, Million Dollar Quartet takes audiences back to the roots of music - and to the beginning careers of four artists who would later make music history. This Tony Award-Winning production, written by Colin Escott and Floyd Mutrux runs through January 15 in the Gompertz Theatre. Subscriptions for all four Winter Mainstage shows can be purchased for as little as $59. Single tickets range from $56-$59. Subscriptions and single tickets are available by calling the Box Office at (941) 366-9000 or online at www.floridastudiotheatre.org.

About Florida Studio Theatre

Known as Sarasota's Contemporary Theatre, Florida Studio Theatre was founded in 1973 by Artist, Jon Spelman. Starting out as a small touring company, FST traveled to places such as migrant camps and prisons. The company eventually settled down into a permanent home, acquiring the former Woman's Club building - now renamed the Keating Theatre. In the years that followed, Florida Studio Theatre established itself as a major force in American Theatre, presenting Contemporary Theatre in its five theatre venues: the Keating Theatre, the Goldstein Cabaret, the renovated Gompertz Theatre, the John C. Court Cabaret and Bowne's Lab Theatre.

Even with its growth, Florida Studio Theatre remains firmly committed to making the Arts Accessible and affordable to a broad-based audience. Under Producing Artistic Director and CEO, Richard Hopkins, FST develops theatre that speaks to our living, evolving, and dynamically changing world. As FST grows and expands, it continues to provide audiences with challenging, contemporary drama and innovative programs.
