PRIDE & PREJUDICE to Play the Lyceum Theatre, 6/15 & 16

By: Jun. 01, 2012

Pride and Prejudice will be performed at the Lyceum Theatre (79 Horton Plaza) in downtown San Diego's Gas Lamp district (92101) at 8:00 PM on June 15th & 16th.  Also at 2:00 PM on Jun 16th & 17th.   For tickets call: (619) 544-1000 or go online at www.LyceumEvents.org.  On June 15, 2012 at 6:30 PM a regency reception launches the limited engagement of the staging for this 19thcentury romantic comedy.  Regency style attire is optional.

Arts Off Broadway's first non-musical production in conjunction with Ivy Players is also the first of the series of Jon Jory's adaptations of Jane Austen's classic novels to be presented this season.  Founder of Ivy Players and co-director Missie Van Bebber says, "This production of the Jane Austen classic Pride and Prejudice has been a project of mine for over a year. I am grateful to Arts Off Broadway for joining me in my quest to develop a theatre program (From the page to the STAGE!) that focuses on bringing classical literature to the stage."

With eighteen players in the cast of Pride and Prejudice this enduring story is encapsulated with all the copious parlance and sensible wit that was intended in the novel.  The unconventional courtship between Mr. Darcy and Elizabeth Bennet as played by Tyler C. Jiles and Taylor Piles respectively, brings unique enchantment to this illustrious tale.
