(10/17/2013) - There is something very exciting about doing regional work as opposed to being on tour. For one you get to be in one city for extended amount of time and you don't have to live in a hotel. Yes the benefits of a hotel room are awesome. Turn down service, fresh towels, room service. I could go on and on. But for me there is nothing better than actually being in an apt, even when I am on tour I prefer it. I have space for one thing, I am not around other loud hotel guests, I can bring my dog with me (very important), and I actually feel like I am living in the city I am working in as opposed to just being a tourist. In a way it almost feels like home. You have a life, you make friends, you have your daily routine, your favorite coffee shop, and your favorite place to eat and let me tell you, you can't beat my view.

(06/07/2013) - So, my first show as a Jersey Boy came and went on Tuesday night and let me tell you what an amazing experience it was. I've performed in many shows, on Broadway and on tour, and this show is like no other. The fact that you are singing these incredible iconic songs is just amazing. Add the precise and awesome choreography by Sergio Trujilo, the perfect direction by Des McAnuff, the incredible book by Rick Elice and Marshall Brickman... I feel so blessed and honored to be performing this show.
(05/22/2013) - Ah, that first day of rehearsal . . . you arrive in a really cute outfit, eager to meet all the other attractive people you'll be in the trenches with for the next few months . . . the Designers make their presentations, showing everyone how beautiful the stage will look and how gorgeous the cast will be in costume. Oh, if only that bliss of knowing that you look good could last. *Sigh.*
(05/16/2013) - When people ask me why I love Salt Lake City as much as I do, I usually reply, 'Amazing outdoor life, a thriving creative community, and great junk food.' Emphasis on the latter. For the record, I am not including in this category all of the amazing home-baked goodies that our very own Mary Driggs brings in on what seems like a weekly basis (and thank goodness for the hiking in the Wasatch Mountains to burn off all those cupcakes!). Only here have I had things like deep-fried scones (!), Hawaiian Haystack, Apple Beer, and Hires Big H. If you grew up in the Midwest, like I did, you probably know Hires Root Beer - it was my favorite pop (Yes, that's what we called it. Laugh away), available at any grocery store. How thrilling to know that their flagship restaurant, an old-fashioned burger joint where everything is made from scratch daily, is right here in Utah!

This ever-popular musical is making a comeback - literally - and, no, I don't mean an uptick in ticket sales since the movie was released last December. PTC was the first regional theatre to produce Les Mis, in 2007, where it played for 10 sold-out weeks. So it's no surprise that we're here again, just six years later, bringing this amazing story to life.

The student written show by Mahonri Stewart was a success, selling out its run, prompting enthusiastic reviews, and going on to win second place in the Kennedy Center's American College Theatre Festival's national playwriting award, as well as snagging a KCACTF National Selection Team Fellowship Award. The strong showing the play presented at the Festival prompted one of the judges, Gary Garrison, to say that the play was 'the most intelligently written play I have read [for the festival] in a decade.' For its ten year anniversary, Zion Theatre Company is remounting a production of the play directed by Ronnie Stringfellow on April 15-27. BroadwayWorld has a first look at the cast below!
