Silent Film Meets Rock Opera In PHANTOM At Kingsbury Hall 10/8
It's a Phantom unlike any you've seen before when Vox Lumiere brings their new production of Phantom of the Opera to Salt Lake City, combining rock opera and silent film to create a thrilling entertainment experience! Vox's Phantom combines new rock music with the classic 1925 Lon Chaney silent film. This brilliant film features Chaney in his greatest role. His portrayal as the masked composer who lives deep within the Paris Opera House, and his eerie unmasking scene, still makes audiences gasp! Thirty University of Utah students from the Department of Theatre's new Musical Theatre Program will also be performing with Vox Lumiere for the public performance, as well as a school matinee earlier that day. Under the direction of musical theatre professor David Schmidt, the students will perform several songs with the Vox company, as a part of Kingsbury Hall's mission to provide professional performing opportunities for College of Fine Arts students.
