The Grand Theatre, located at 1575 South State Street, Salt Lake City, will be holding auditions for "The Crucible" by Arthur Miller on Saturday, December 10, 2011. The auditions will begin at 10:00 a.m. and will be held in the Alumni Room, W181. Mark Fossen will be directing the production and it will run March 8 - 24, 2012 in the Grand Theatre. Rehearsals will begin January 23.

Those wishing to audition will need to call the Grand Theatre box office at (801) 957-3322 to schedule an audition time. Each actor will have 3-5 minute time slot. Actors of all ethnic backgrounds are encouraged to audition. We are looking for women ages 10 - 60 and males ages 25 - 60 for these roles.

Each person who auditions should select a monologue from classical literature, such as Shakespeare, George Bernard Shaw, Greek drama, or a segment from "The Crucible". Monologues for Abigail Williams and Reverend Hale can be found at www.the-grand.org. The monologue should showcase the individual's ability in using classical language. Memorization is also strongly encouraged, but not necessary.
