Ocean State Theatre Company (OSTC), the not-for-profit which brought new life to the historic Theatre By The Sea for the past five years, is proud to present David Mamet's Tony nominated play, Race. The Rhode Island premiere presentation, with additional underwriting support provided by National Amusements Theatres, will enjoy a limited run at the new state-of-the-art Ocean State Theatre in Warwick from March 27-April 14.

This provocative play by Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright, David Mamet, follows three attorneys, two black and one white, who are confronted with the chance to defend a white man charged with a high-profile crime against a black woman. The plot unfolds as the three lawyers and defendant grapple with the evidence of the case and their own feelings about race. Race contains adult language and content.

Directed by Producing Artistic Director Amiee Turner, the cast includes Damron Russel Armstrong, who was most recently seen as Tom Collins in OSTC's critically acclaimed production of RENT and Christopher Swan, who audiences will remember from his portrayals of Hysterium in A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum (2007) and Andre in Dirty Rotten Scoundrels (2009), both with OSTC, as attorneys Henry Brown and Jack Lawson. They are joined by veteran stage and television performer Sean McGuirk, who portrayed Wilbur in OSTC's popular production of Hairspray (2011) as Charles Strickland and regional actress, Nakeisha Daniel, who will be making her OSTC debut in the role of Susan.

Race will be presented at Ocean State Theatre from March 27 - April 14. Previews are scheduled for Wednesday, March 27 at 7:30 pm and Thursday, March 28 at 2:00 and 7:30 pm. All other performances will be held Wednesday (except April 10) through Saturday evenings at 7:30 pm, with matinees on Thursdays, Saturdays and Sundays at 2:00 pm. Conducting Conversations Live!, a free post-show discussion hosted by WCRI's Mike Maino, will follow the 2pm performance on Saturday, March 20. Cocktail Conversations, a post-show discussion following select evening performances, will be held in the theatre's lobby. Cast members, OSTC staff members and patrons can "continue the conversation," while enjoying beverages and snacks, which will be available for purchase from the theatre's lobby bar.

The theatre is located at 1245 Jefferson Boulevard, Warwick, RI. Tickets are $30 for preview performances and $30-$47 for all other performances.
