Epic Theatre's LEAVING RHODE ISLAND Begins Tonight

By:
In July of 2009, Epic's first Summer Spectacular-That Might Not Be Sex-was an original work unlike any other. Over the course of four weekends, over eighty actors performed brand new monologues all centered around the same theme. Since then, the numbers have been growing, as we've taken on bigger and even more ambitious projects, including Charlie's Funeral, The Acting Company, and This Might Not Be It. This year, we're breaking our own record with over one hundred and sixty actors performing monologues and scenes for our fifth anniversary show-Leaving Rhode Island.

Here's the description:

In 2009, a large group of Rhode Islanders were told to leave the state for an unspecified length of time. Within a week, they had to leave family, friends, and the rest of their lives behind to start over in brand new places all over the world.

Five years later, they're told they can come home.

Why were they told to leave? And why can they now return? Why were these people chosen?

And the most important question of all-

Will they come back?

Leaving Rhode Island runs tonight, July 11th, 12th, 18th, 25th, and 26th @ 8pm, and July 20th @ 7pm. All performances are at the Artist's Exchange, located at 50 Rolfe Square, Cranston RI. It was written and directed by Kevin Broccoli.

Press Night: July 11th @ 8pm

Tickets: $15 General Admission, $12 Students/Seniors
