Cinderella the Musical with music by Michael Sgorous and lyrics/book by Brenda Bell premiered Off-Broadway at the Players Theatre in New York City on January 31, 2010 and has been revived several times at the same theatre. This recording is of the 2015 cast, whose names are listed below.

Step into the magical world of Cinderella and see if the shoe fits. Meet mice that sing and dance while getting Cinderella to the ball in a magic pumpkin all arranged by her fairy Godmother. This beautiful musical by Michael Sgouros & Brenda Bell is based on the beloved classic fairy tale. Poor Cinderella, she works all day, has to deal with those awful step-sisters and then sleeps in the cinders. But, don't be too sad because Cinderella is one smart cookie. She'll make it to the Prince's ball and capture his heart. Sure, she may lose one of her shoes, but what she gains is worth more than gold!

The orchestration features trumpet and percussion (Including vibraphone, chimes, tympani and drum set) with all sound effects being created acoustically by musicians.

ABOUT THE WRITING TEAM
Cinderella is one of twelve Sgouros & Bell musicals. Other literature-based musicals include: The Selfish Giant, Treasure Island, Stone Soup, Frankenstein, A Christmas Carol, Phantom of the Opera (Sgouros and Bell), The Little Mermaid, Alice In Wonderland, Tico Tales, Sleepy Hollow and Beauty and the Beast. Sgouros and Bell began collaborating in 2008. As of 2018, they have had over 43 productions of their musicals produced Off-Broadway as well as in Costa Rica. ABOUT LITERALLY ALIVE™
Cinderella the Musical was produced by Literally Alive™ Family Theatre, a NYC-based production company that creates original musicals based on classic literature and brings them to life on stage through live music, theatre, dance, magic, puppetry and storytelling. In addition to the performance, families can participate in an inter-active hands-on pre-show arts workshop where they learn how the creative team transformed the story into a live show. Since its formation in 1999, the company has produced 14 original musicals in NYC and internationally. In 2007 they moved Off-Broadway to The Players Theatre where they are currently in residence
