Casa de Musica presents THE SECOND OF BRUCKNER on Oct. 12.
First concertist work written by Mozart for a wind instrument, the Bassoon Concertois at the top of the repertoire preferences for this instrument. Rui Lopes, a soloist with an intense international career, has recorded it on a CD with the English Chamber Orchestra, which won the most critics praise.
Acclaimed German conductor Michael Sanderling, nicknamed "sound designer" by international critics, directs the Symphony Orchestra in yet another chapter of Bruckner's Integral of Symphonies. Written in a period when he was desperately seeking to assert himself as a composer, the second symphony won the accolades of criticism but not the sympathy of the musicians, who protested at the various stops that the score imposed.
