Portland's Imago Theater Holds Open Auditions For 3 Shows 5/3

By: Apr. 13, 2009

Open auditions on Sunday May 3rd at 6PM.

Imago Theatre is holding open auditions for three productions. No reservations are required - to audition just arrive at Imago Theatre, 17 SE 8th, Avenue, on May 3 at 6PM. Allow 2 hours or more for the audition. For more information, contact imagotheatre@gmail.com

Performers will be seen in one large group. Wear "street clothes" that you can move in. We'd prefer not to see dance wear, but you need to wear clothes that allow you to move with your fullest range.

The auditions are open to equity and non-equity actors. No prepared audition material is required but you might be asked to do a one minute verbal or non-verbal audition (material is up to you.)

All three productions are movement pieces. The style and quality of each show varies. Some shows are extremely physical, other shows are not. All the productions for this audition are non-verbal so only actors, dancers, and performers with movement skills will be cast.

Compensation for each show varies, and ranges from full salary to stipend only.

Shows:
Cinder (Working Title)
Jerry Mouawad stages a silent play by fusing the fairy tale of Cinderella with the inner world of the mentally ill. Cinder is caught in a web of delusion, trapped by her step-sisters and step-brothers which no one else can see or hear. Stipend pay only. Will begin rehearsal TBD. To open TBD. Mild to extreme physicality. Roles for men and women 18 to 65 years old. This is a stipend only show.

FROGZ and Biglittlethings. Imago theatre's signature works of mask theater for family audiences. Tours internationally as well as engagements in Portland. Will begin rehearsals TBD. Positions available TBD. Roles for men and women 18 to 35 years old. Extremely physical. Salaried position.
