Town and Country Players Presents WONDERS OF THE WORLD 5/21-30

By:

The Town and Country Players present their first comedy of the season, David Lindsay-Abaire's hilarious Wonder of the World, directed by Alana Caraccio, opening on May 21 and running for 3 weekends through June 5 at their venue in Buckingham.

According to director Caraccio, Wonder of the World "seems to be an 'absurdist comedy', but deals with themes that are quite classical. Our main character has that 'seven-year-itch' in a marriage that seems to be a compromise. She needs breathing space...and adventure, and justification that the marriage and her life, in general, are the ones she was supposed to exist within. A classical conundrum: are we in the life we are supposed to live? Did we choose it through Free Will or were we destined to come to it via an uncontrollable Force? Had we made other decisions, taken other paths, would our lives be different? Absurd? Not at all! David Lindsay-Abaire, a highly popular, Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright gives the ancient theme a contemporary twist and invites us to see the comedy and hope in our human predicament."

Performance dates/times are May 21, 22, 28, 29, June 4 and 5 at 8pm, and May 30 at 3pm. Ticket prices are $15. Performances are at the Town and Country Players Theater, 4158 York Road (Rte. 263), Buckingham. For tickets and more information visit www.TownAndCountryPlayers.org or phone 800-838-3006.
