Stray Cat Theatre to Close 2015-16 Season with Green Day's AMERICAN IDIOT

Stray Cat Theatre presents Green Day's AMERICAN IDIOT, with Music by Green Day, Lyrics by Billie Joe Armstrong, and Book by Billie Joe Armstrong and Michael Mayer. Directed by Ron May, with Musical Direction by Andy Kust and Choreography by Lisa Starry, the production will run Friday, June 24th, 2016 - Saturday, July 16th, 2016, with a preview performance on Friday, June 24th, 2016 at 8pm.

Do not adjust your set... Stray Cat is purring crazy hard to be presenting the first local production of the two-time Tony Award-winning hit musical based on Green Day's Grammy Award- winning multi-platinum album, which boldly takes the American musical where it's never gone before. This high-octane show includes every song from Green Day's album American Idiot, as well as several songs from follow-up release, 21st Century Breakdown. An energy-fueled rock opera, AMERICAN IDIOT features little dialogue and instead relies on the lyrics from Green Day's groundbreaking album to execute the story line of teen rage, love, and loss that is wholly and utterly American.

Choreography for AMERICAN IDIOT will be by Scorpius Dance Theatre's brilliant founder and Artistic Director - Lisa Starry (A Vampire Tale).

AMERICAN IDIOT runs Friday, June 24th, 2016 - Saturday, July 16th, 2016, with one preview performance on Friday, June 24th, 2016 at 8pm. Opening night is set for Saturday, June 25th, 2016 at 8pm. The regular run will continue: Thursdays at 7PM; Fridays & Saturdays at 8PM; and Sundays at 2PM at the Tempe Center for the Arts STUDIO THEATRE, 700 W Rio Salado Parkway, Tempe, AZ 85281.
