Sixth Annual BROADWAY BALL Kicks Off With Luncheon And Fashion Show

The 6th Annual Broadway Ball Luncheon and Fashion Show was held in early September at the Arizona Broadway Theatre in Peoria.

Members of the theatre community gathered to kick off a year of raising awareness and funds for Arizona Broadway Theatre and its programs. Event sponsors were Sun Health at Home and Red Bird Farms. Table sponsors included Terri Bell, Delores Huebner, Sharon Jarnagin, Barbara Lashmet, Janet Maurer, Midwestern University, Jeana Petersen, and Margaret Richard. ABT Trustee Sharon Jarnagin chaired the event.

Vintage costumes from recent and past Mainstage productions decorated the perimeter of the Encore Room. Theatre CEO and Executive Producer Kiel Klaphake welcomed more than 150 attendees to the inaugural event. A chef-prepared lunch was served, and a fashion show was presented featuring models in fashions from the Calle Rose collection. All clothing items were available for purchase during a two-day Calle Rose Boutique staged in the theatre lobby.

Twelve models donated their time for fittings, rehearsal, and the fashion show. They were Elizabeth Blake, Lorraine Bossé-Smith, Sylvia Butler, Ruth Carpenter, Susan Downing, Delores Huebner, Dr. Janet Maurer, Cheri Seith, Caroline Farkas, Kristin Wurr, Charlene Young, and Jessica Zimmerman.

Since 2013, the members of the Broadway Ball committee have raised funds and awareness for the artistic, educational, and charitable programs at the Arizona Broadway theatre through an elegant annual event at the theatre. Lisa E. Platt and Kristin Wurr will serve as co-chairs of the 6th Annual Broadway Ball, to be held Saturday, March 2, 2019.
