BROCKway Comes To Desert Stages

Desert Stages Theatre in Scottsdale is proud to present this ONE NIGHT ONLY event- bROCKway- on Friday October 12th immediately following the performance of Young Frankenstein.

We take your favorite songs, and some you're not so familiar with and bring them to you in a Re-Imagined Rock Concert Setting, with MultiMedia and Concert Lighting to further enhance your experience. bROCKway's inspiration originated in the summer of '96 when Mark 4man was experiencing the original Fantasmic. As it got to the Pink Elephants on Parade section, the way Bruce Healey was able to take a pre-existing song and rearrange it with Electric guitar taking the melody line and just updating it to the current sound was something M4 was totally impressed and inspired by and that started him down his current rearrangement path. He's been a Music Director for many shows in the valley over the past 2 decades and during that time He's had the privilege of playing some of the best show tunes to ever come from Broadway, the problem He soon figured out was there were a lot of very good tunes but they were sometimes buried so deep in the shows, and that some people didn't want to sit through a 3 hour production to hear some of those gems. So bROCKway was formed in 2004 to bring those songs to the mainstream, while re-rocking them so they had a more modern sound to them. We got rid of the dialogue within songs and replaced it with Shredding Guitar and Keyboard solos in order to further separate these "show tunes" from mainstream music. Mark's musical influences span from Dream Theater, The Moody Blues, Weird Al Yankovic (which He derives a lot of vocal harmonies from), Meatloaf and Blue Man Group, just to name a few, which is evident when you Experience bROCKway!
