Amity's Foundation Board Honors Lisa Fogle as Newest Member

By:

Amity Foundation is honored to announce that Dr. Lisa Fogle, a local Tucson Dentist in private practice for over 25 years, long-time Tucson philanthropist, and advocate for at-risk youth, has joined Amity's, Foundation Board of Directors, known as "Dragonfly." Amity's Foundation Board is launching a capital campaign that will raise funds to build a state-of-the-art, 5-acre, 15-building Children's and Family Center, on a parcel of Amity Foundation's Circle Tree Ranch. Dragonfly Village will reunify children in need with their families, families who are in need of substance abuse treatment, vocational training and parenting skills and life-skills training. Upon completion the Village will provide housing for 100 families annually.

Amity is a model, (one of only a few facilities nationwide), that allows for a child or children to enter a residential setting with mother, father or both parents. This educational setting addresses the entire generational and family system, allows parents to be reunified and reeducated while the children are provided a safe haven, receive counseling, and allowed a safe place to heal and excel academically.

Lisa Fogle has a long, distinguished, passion for helping at-risk youth and has developed a curriculum to provide at risk youths an opportunity to explore the developmental therapeutic aspects of creative expression. Lisa has served on the boards of The March of Dimes, Sunsounds, Angel Charity for Children, and as a founding member of the Foundation Board of the Humane Society of Southern Arizona, organizing and producing "Putting on the Dog." She is also a dedicated supporter of the Tucson Museum of Art, Scottsdale Museum of Contemporary Art, Steele Children's Research Center, Hope Fest and Tihan (Tucson Interfaith HIV AIDS Network). Lisa is also an active member of the Rotary Club of Tucson.

Fogle, a former downtown Tucson art gallery owner, plans to continue the pursuit of her passion in art and will be heading up and opening the new Amity Foundation's Art Gallery on the corner of 5th and Broadway, anchoring the Historic Julian Building owned by downtown revivalist, Ross Rulney. Lisa with Amity, (which began in Tucson in 1969), intends to be an active presence in Tucson's downtown revitalization. The new Amity Dragonfly Gallery headed by Fogle will promote local artists at 188 East Broadway. All proceeds will benefit the "Amity Foundation's Dragonfly Village" capital campaign.

Monthly events and planned coordination with existing downtown events are high on the priority list for Fogle in hopes to fully revitalize downtown and get Amity's Dragonfly Village built.
