Theater Alliance Of Greater Philly Announces Feb. Events

This February, the Theatre Alliance of Greater Philadelphia is celebrating the theatre community's commitment to the development of new works. The month of February will be the perfect time to check out a Premiere in America's First Great Theatre City! There are a number of fully staged productions running throughout the month, as well as readings, workshops and discussions.

In the coming weeks the Theatre Alliance will be sending information highlighting new play development activities happening in February throughout the Greater Philadelphia region. Stay tuned for our weekly updates about what is coming to your local stages!

New Play Productions:
Get tickets to My Name is Asher Lev! Arden Theatre Company is presenting My Name is Asher Lev, a World Premiere by Aaron Posner adapted from the novel by Chaim Potok. Currently unning through March 15th.

Get tickets to ...Whitman's Lincoln! Walnut Street Theatre is presenting O Captain, My Captain: Whitman's Lincoln, a World Premiere of a new play in celebration of Abraham Lincoln's 200th birthday, written by Bill Van Horn. Closing Sunday, February 8th.

Get tickets to Resurrection! Philadelphia Theatre Company is presenting Resurrection by Daniel Beaty - one of the hottest young African-American actor/playwrights working in this country today. Running through February 22nd.

Get tickets to The Rant! InterAct Theatre Company presents The Rant by Andrew Case, a play about stereotypes, prejudice and misinformation. Currently running through February 22nd.

Get tickets to The Day of the Picnic! People's Light & Theatre Company is presenting The Day of the Picnic - a World Premiere by Russell Davis. Currently running through February 22nd.

Readings, Workshops and Seminars:
Get tickets to Don Quixote! Curio Theatre Company presents a reading of a new adaptation by Tim Martin of the classic, Don Quixote. This week only - February 5-8.
Learn more about Fresh Voices! Up in the Lehigh Valley, Touchstone Theatre presents Fresh Voices, an ensemble piece fully created by the Touchstone Apprentices. Runs February 6 & 7.

Monday, February 9th: Philadelphia Theatre Company presents a reading of Mistakes Were Made by Craig White and InterAct Theatre Company presents Writing Aloud, featuring short fictional stories by the region's best writers, read on stage by professional actors.
