Bob Egan, local musician, producer and owner of Bob Egan Entertainment, one of the region's leading entertainment agencies, announced today his return to producing live performances at a new venue to be named Bob Egan's New Hope. The venue will be housed at The Ramada of New Hope (formerly the Nevermore Hotel) at 6426 Lower York Road, US Route 202 in New Hope, PA.

Egan who was the founder and producer of the former Cabaret at Odette's, the renowned cabaret that Michael Feinstein named as one of the country's Top 10 Cabarets in USA Today, will present performances at the new venue, formerly known as Harlan's at The Nevermore. The first Egan-produced performance was a special singers showcase on Thursday, October 14. Egan is quickly followed scheduling a full schedule of events that include several notable cabaret performances, leading up to an official grand opening with three performances by jazz singer and Broadway star, Ann Hampton Callaway, November 6-7.

Egan actually built the cabaret room three years ago and christened it Bob Egan's Cosmopolitan Club. He designed the venue as an optimal room for intimate cabaret performances. Egan's tenure at the venue was brief, however, as his arrangement was cancelled after a new owner acquired the hotel and renamed it The Nevermore. Recently, the hotel was sold again, this time to Tom Frank, a Doylestown entrepreneur and owner of The Knight House and 86 West, who has plans to make the hotel an entertainment and dining destination for tourists and locals alike. The hotel, which is expected to undergo a substantial renovation and rebranding, is being renamed The Ramada of New Hope.

"I am very excited to return to this cabaret space that I designed and built," says Egan. "I am especially pleased to be working with Tom Frank. Tom is someone whose enthusiasm for live entertainment is real and unmistakable. He has an obvious appreciation for music and for artists and I look forward to our partnership." Egan says that Frank is planning to match the style of food to the style of the setting. Diners can expect a new menu that includes their award-winning sushi from 86 West.

Through aggressive programming, Egan says he hopes to return New Hope and Bucks County to a "must play" position on the live music and cabaret circuit.

"Bob Egan's New Hope will be a venue for everyone. While we will continue to feature up-and-coming local and regional performers, patrons can expect to see some of the top artists from the cabaret world and beyond," says Egan. During his 20-plus years producing cabaret at Odette's and other venues throughout the region, Egan has presented headline entertainers from Broadway, cabaret and more. At Bob Egan's New Hope, Egan says programming will be expanded to include jazz, folk and blues music as well as comedy performances and screenings of small films.

"I hope our programming dispels the stigma that some of the American Idol judges have put on the word cabaret," says Egan. "Cabaret is really about coming together to experience great music or entertainment in an intimate setting. While much of it is dedicated to the Great American Songbook, it is truly about really good singers who present a perfect marriage of lyric and melody."
