The famous tale of star-crossed lovers is coming to Lima. Romeo and Juliet will play at the Gran Teatro Nacional June 14-23, 2019.
The Ministry of Culture presents the National Ballet of Peru in its First Season 2019, entitled Romeo and Juliet, a montage created by the artistic director of the company Jimmy Gamonet de los Heros, based on the literary work of William Shakespeare and with the music by Sergei Prokofiev. The work tells the story of two young lovers who, despite the opposition of their families, rival each other, decide to join in marriage clandestinely; However, the pressure of that rivalry ends up leading the couple towards a tragic destiny.
The National Symphony of Peru will accompany the dancers in telling the story.
