LA DOCTORA Comes to Teatro La Plaza This Month

La doctora Ruth Wolff, directora fundadora de un prestigioso Instituto de investigación, se niega a dejar entrar a un sacerdote católico al quirófano donde una adolescente está muriendo. Después de que una grabación del altercado con el sacerdote se haga viral en Internet, Ruth recibe feroces críticas de parte de sus colegas del Instituto, del padre de la joven, de personas en las redes sociales y, finalmente, de un panel televisivo de grupos activistas, quienes critican la intención y decisión de Ruth.
La Doctora explora temas de identidad, raza, privilegios, religión, salud mental y sexualidad. Se pregunta también si es posible defender la “verdad» cuando nadie se pone de acuerdo sobre cuál es ésta y muchos encuentran motivos para socavarla. Un debate cautivador que cuestiona los absolutos.
