ALZIRA Comes To Gran Teatro Nacional Today

ALZIRA is coming to the Gran Teatro Nacional, running from Nov. 9 to Nov. 18.
The Ministry of Culture continues in November with its 2018 Opera Season, premiering in Peru "Alzira", the work of Giuseppe Verdi, whose location is the city of Lima at the time of the Colony. The montage takes us back to the time when Spaniards and Indians live together in an atmosphere of constant conflict, where the children of the Incas struggle to get rid of the Spanish yoke, which has taken over their lands and is forced to rip off their identity.
Alzira is an Inca maiden claimed as a wife by the future governor of Peru in exchange for peace between Indians and Spaniards. The Inca Zamoro, who was believed dead, returns to claim the love of Alzira initiating a warlike conflict that adds to the already complicated relationship between settlers and Incas.
