Equally miraculous is his performance as Cornelius Hackl, which just earned him a Tony nomination for Featured Actor in a Musical. THE ORIGINALIST, by John Strand (Charles MacArthur Award-winning Lovers and Executioners), directed by Molly Smith (Camp David and Artistic Director of Arena Stage), and starring four-time Helen Hayes Award-winner Edward Gero (Goodman Theatre's Red), tells the story about a liberal law student's nerve-wracking clerkship with Justice Antonin Scalia. THE ORIGINALIST, a co-production with Asolo Repertory Theatre, is now playing through May 7, 2017.

Today, April 18th, we celebrate the birthday of Broadway favorite, Gavin Creel.

The acclaimed new musical War Paint, starring two-time Tony Award winners Patti LuPone and Christine Ebersole, played a sold-out run in Chicago this summer where it became the most successful show in Goodman Theatre's history. Now it comes to Broadway, beginning performances on Tuesday, March 7, 2017 - and officially opens on Thursday, April 6, 2017.

Gloria by Branden Jacobs-Jenkins, is currently running through February 19, 2017, directed by Evan Cabnet, in its Chicago premiere at the Goodman Theatre, starring Kyle Beltran, Catherine Combs, Michael Crane, Jennifer Kim, Jeanine Serralles and Ryan Spahn. Two-time Tony Award winners Patti LuPone and Christine Ebersole, returning to Broadway this spring in the acclaimed new musical War Paint, were featured guests at this week's New York Times 'War Paint Times Talk,' hosted at the Times Center. Critically acclaimed magician, illusion designer and actor Brett Schneider portrays a rising young magician who must take the stage just hours after his partner has left him. Though a good magician must always be in control of his show, The Magician's performance begins to unravel, illuminating his offstage life, which may be as fragile as a house of cards. The dynamic actor, singer and dancer Andre De Shields opened last night at Chicago's Victory Gardens Theater (2433 N. Lincoln Avenue) in his own new play, CONFESSIONS OF A P.I.M.P., directed by Samuel G. Roberson and Dennis Zacek.

Dennis Zacek and Grippo Stage Co., Inc., are presenting CONFESSIONS OF A P.I.M.P., written and performed by Broadway and Chicago star Andre De Shields, and directed by Samuel G. Roberson and Dennis Zacek. The cast also includes Kimberly Lawson and Donica Lynn.
