We heartily welcomed the 2017 graduating class to New York alongside headliners and notable Hartt School alums, Kevin Duda, Douglas Lyons and Anthony Fett! We also had a special guest appearance from West End star, Jason Denton and rising star Amanda Nelson! Watching these grads take the stage at Broadway Sessions really warmed our hearts (ok we'll stop with the heart/Hartt jokes now.) Check it out now!

On September 16th, 2016 Masterworks Broadway released the World Premiere Recording of the award winning new hit Polkadots: The Cool Kids Musical. Written by Douglas Lyons, Melvin Tunstall, III and Greg Borowsky, Polkadots is a new musical inspired by the true events of the Civil Rights pioneers Ruby Bridges and The Little Rock Nine. The album's release will be celebrated in a concert presentation on Monday October 24th at The Cutting Room, and BroadwayWorld has a look behind the scenes with the cast in the studio!

The August 4, 2016 Broadway in Bryant Park show included a performance by the Broadway cast of BEAUTIFUL: THE CAROL KING MUSICAL. Cast members for the event included Chilina Kennedy, James Harkness, Douglas Lyons, Alan Wiggins, and Dashawn Young performing the numbers 'Natural Woman,' 'On Broadway,' and 'I Feel The Earth Move.'

On Sunday, May 22nd at 8:15pm, 'The Ensemblist' podcast will be hosting a live show as part of the 2016 NYC Podfest. The only podcast that shows you Broadway from the inside out, will be featuring three Broadway singer-songwriters John Arthur Greene, Janet Krupin, and Douglas Lyons.

POLKADOTS: THE COOL KIDS MUSICAL will receive its premiere developmental production at the Ivortyon Playhouse, April 11th-16th, 2016. Conceived by (composer) Douglas Lyons, POLKADOTS was inspired by the 1957 events of the 'Little Rock Nine' in Arkansas and serves as a colorful musical history lesson for children, reminding them that our individual differences make us awesome, not outcasts.POLKADOTS has lyrics by Mr. Lyons, who co-wrote the score with Greg Borowsky (Sony ATV). Melvin Tunstall III (BLooM!) helmed the book. The show's original illustrations are by Salina Giardino.

Beautiful - The Carole King Musical, about the early life and career of the legendary and groundbreaking singer/songwriter, opened on Broadway at the Stephen Sondheim Theatre (124 West 43rd Street) on January 12, 2014, where it continues to break box office records. Just last night, King made a surprise trip to the show, where she not only shocked the cast onstage, but managed to raise $30,000 for BC/EFA for a special duet of 'You've Got a Friend' with Jessie Mueller. Ghostlight Records has announced that the Original Cast Recording of the new Broadway hit Beautiful - The Carole King Musical, can now be pre-ordered on iTunes, in advance of a Tuesday, April 1st digital release. Those who pre-order the album will immediately receive a special advance track of Jessie Mueller's 'Will You Love Me Tomorrow.' The album, produced by Jason Howland, Steve Sidwell and Billy Jay Stein, with Kurt Deutsch serving as Executive Producer, will be available in-stores on May 13, 2014 and will include a 28-page color booklet with full lyrics, rare and never-before-seen archival and show photos, and liner notes by Beautiful book writer Douglas McGrath. PAGEANT - THE MUSICAL COMEDY BEAUTY CONTEST returns for the first time to the New York stage in more than twenty years. The show will run each Monday night in February, with performances on February 3, 10, 17 and 24, 2014 at 7:30pm at the Red Lacquer Club, home of Lucky Cheng's - 240 West 52nd Street.
