glory|struck productions presents an immersive, environmental staging of AMERICAN IDIOT, to be vibrantly brought to life in a yet-to-be-disclosed warehouse venue of Downtown Los Angeles' Arts District. Performances begin May 15th. Lindsay Pearce (soon to be on ABC Family's upcoming show 'Recovery Road,' and of 'Glee' fame) and Payson Lewis (bare, 'The Sing Off') recorded a cover of Green Day's 'Basket Case' (off of their Dookie album) in promotion of tickets going on sale for the show. The AMERICAN IDIOT national touring production recently made its final stop at Denver Center after three years on the road.Composter, lyricist and co-book writer Billie Joe Armstrong was joined by Green Day bandmate Tre Cool and director / co-book writer Michael Mayer for the final cast party on May 23 at Denver's Pizza Republica, all of which was captured by Denver Center videographer David Lenk. Happy Birthday, Billie Joe Armstrong! Best known as the lead vocalist, main songwriter and lead guitarist for the American punk rock band Green Day, Armstrong recently brought one of his most popular albums to Broadway- American Idiot. In 2010, Armstrong joined the cast of American Idiot, which won two Tonys, for one week in the role of St. Jimmy. He replaced the original Broadway cast member Tony Vincent in fall of 2010 and returned to the role for 50 performances in January 2011.
Theatre at St. Clement's will host the World Premiere of The Clearing, written by Jake Jeppson (Jerome Fellowship recipient) and directed by Josh Hecht (Drama Desk Award winner for Christine Jorgensen Reveals). The Clearing runs Off-Broadway from tonight, January 15 - February 9, 2014. Previews begin tonight, January 15 for a January 19 opening.
