Pasadena Symphony Kicks Off 2012 with Elgar and Mendelssohn

Seminal Los Angeles cellist Andrew Shulman performs Elgar's Cello Concerto with conductor David Lockington and the Pasadena Symphony on Saturday, January 14 at 2 and 8 pm at the Ambassador Auditorium. In demand with North America's most respected orchestras, Lockington leads the symphony in Philip Sawyer's 2008 celebratory work The Gale of Life and Mendelssohn's musical postcard from the highlands, the joyous "Scottish" Symphony, a winning combination to welcome the New Year.

Feinstein's at Loews Regency is closing their Fall 2011 season with the return engagement of the club's founder Michael Feinstein and Tony Award winning Broadway legend Barbara Cook from through December 30. To celebrate Barbara Cook's 2011 Kennedy Center Honor, the club is rolling back prices to when the club opened in 1999 for the month of December: $60 cover and no minimum. Their show will feature gems from the great American songbook by Irving Berlin, Duke Ellington and Rodgers & Hart, in addition to Broadway hits and holiday classics.
