It caused a sensation when it was first heard in 1976. The Claude Bolling Suite, a brilliant combination of jazz flute and classical piano, will be heard in a special concert at Middlebury's Town Hall Theater on Wednesday, January 30.

Miller Theatre at Columbia University School of the Arts continues the 2012-13 season of its Composer Portraits series with the works of Russian composer SOFIA GUBAIDULINA, featuring the International Contemporary Ensemble (ICE), Rebekah Heller, bassoon and Christian Knapp, conductor.

The Rubin Museum will explore illusion and human perception in this year's edition of the popular Brainwave series of on-stage conversations between mind scientists and thinkers from diverse walks of life. Opening on February 6, the series will include 20 on-stage conversations, 50 film screenings, and an interactive experience in which the museum will become a Memory Palace. While illusion is usually associated with vision, the series will engage audiences through all five senses to provide a comprehensive understanding of the subject.

Orchestra of St. Luke's (OSL) will open its 2012/2013 orchestra series with Principal Conductor Pablo Heras-Casado leading the orchestra for the first time at Carnegie Hall. The performance also marks Heras-Casado's main stage Carnegie Hall debut.

Ludovic Morlot, music director of the Seattle Symphony, returns to Walt Disney Concert Hall on Thursday, January 24, at 8:00PM, Friday, January 25, at 11:00AM and Saturday, January 26, at 8:00 PM to conduct the Los Angeles Philharmonic in Beethoven's 5th Symphony. The program also features pianist Emanuel Ax performing Mozart's Piano Concerto No. 25, K. 503.

Anthony Dean Griffey, a tenor internationally renowned for his portray of the title role of Britten's Peter Grimes, and Emalie Savoy, a 2011 George London Award winner who is one of New York's fastest rising young sopranos, perform the second George London Foundation Recital of the season with pianist Ken Noda on Sunday, January 13, 2013, at 4:30 PM at The Morgan Library & Museum. The New Jersey Symphony Orchestra (NJSO) and New Jersey Performing Arts Center (NJPAC) present Yo-Yo Ma with the NJSO, a one-performance-only program on Thursday, January 10, at 7:30 p.m. in NJPAC's Prudential Hall.

For "My Special Christmas Present is You" Liona has brought together three musicians of different backgrounds, musical styles and generations, and who all are very proud to be Canadian! "My Special Christmas Present is You" will be available for download on iTunes beginning December 11, 2012. Liona and Maria will sing the song live, for the first time, as part of the CBC's "Sounds of the Season" fundraiser, Friday, December 7 between 5-6PM.

American Composers Orchestra (ACO) performs its second concert of the 2012-13 concert season, Orchestra Underground: Time Travels, on Friday, January 18, 2013 at 7:30pm at Carnegie Hall's Zankel Hall. The concert, led by ACO Music Director George Manahan, features music that explores the concept of time - its mutability, importance, and role as an organizing principle. Lukas Foss' 1960 masterwork, Time Cycle, is the centerpiece for the program, with soprano Jennifer Zetlanas the soloist. The evening also includes the world premiere of composer and sopranoKate Soper's now is forever: I. Orpheus and Eurydice for Voice and Orchestra featuring the composer as soloist, the world premiere of Kyle Blaha's Triptych, and the US premiere of Pulitzer Prize-winning composer Zhou Long's Bell Drum Towers.

Portland Ovations brings holiday cheer to Merrill Auditorium with its presentation of virtuoso Cape Breton fiddler Natalie MacMaster: 'Christmas in Cape Breton' tonight, December 4th at 7:30pm.
