Lincoln Center's acclaimed series American Songbook returns to the elegant Allen Room in January for its fourteenth season celebrating the diversity of American popular song. For 16 nights the series will explore the best of the golden age of musical standards through to today's most dynamic songwriting. The music of Broadway, Latin culture and hip-hop, bluegrass, rock, and pop will be presented, along with three evenings devoted to great American composers and lyricists. The 2012 season - January 11 through February 11 - will bring to the stage some of today's most gifted interpreters of song, including Tony Award winners Laura Benanti, Michael Cerveris, and LaChanze, as well as the 'Queen of British Musicals,' the great Elaine Paige.

Produced primarily by Raymond Richards (Local Natives) and set to drop October 24th on honeyhoney Records/Lost Highway through Fontana Distribution, Billy Jack finds twenty-something musicians Suzanne Santo and Ben Jaffe threading sweet melodies with big acoustic guitar sounds, percussive banjos and countrified fiddles.

The Pittsburgh Cultural Trust will present the multi-talented ARLO GUTHRIE on Saturday, November 5, 2011, at 8:00 p.m. at the Byham Theater. Folk veteran Arlo Guthrie returns to his roots, performing time-honored classics as well as many deep album cuts from a career spanning more than 40 years. Arlo Guthrie has long been a crowd favorite, blending humorous, philosophical reflections with folk-rock hits and brilliantly-crafted new works. Arlo Guthrie along with his son Abe Guthrie, grandson Krishna Guthrie and drummer Terry 'a la Berry' Hall form the Boys' Night Out band, offering synergistic and familial support for a dynamic live performance. The adaptation by Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright Suzan-Lori Parks and Obie Award-winning composer Diedre L. Murray, directed by A.R.T. Artistic Director Diane Paulus, with choreography by Ronald K. Brown, begins previews on August 17 and opens for the reviewing press on August 31 at 7pm. Performances are at the Loeb Drama Center, 64 Brattle Street, Cambridge. Tickets for preview performances are currently on sale, remaining tickets for the run go on sale on July 12.
