The Cold War meets the War on Terror. Bodies meet the floor. LIVE/FEED is a movement theater mash-up that focuses on the actors' physical relationships with each other and with the performance space.

Kathleen Chalfant to Deliver Address at Cooper Union Commencement 5/25

On May 25 at 10am, Obie and Drama Desk award-winning Broadway actress Kathleen Chalfant will deliver the keynote address at The Cooper Union's 151st Commencement. Chalfant has performed in major productions in New York, Los Angeles and London. Well known to audiences for her portrayal of Vivian Bearing in the Pulitzer Prize-winning play, Wit, Ms. Chalfant received the Obie Award, Drama Desk Award, Lucille Lortel Award, Drama League Award and Los Angeles Ovation Award, among others, for her performance. Among her numerous honors, she was acclaimed for her Tony-nominated performance as Hannah Pitt in Tony Kushner's Angels in America: Millennium Approaches on Broadway and received her second Obie Award for her performance in Talking Heads. In 1996, Chalfant made her Shakespearean debut in the Public Theater's Henry V, for which she received that year's Calloway Award for Best Classical Performance.

Sonnet Repertory Theatre & Matchbook Productions Ends Run of RICHARD II 5/24

Sonnet Repertory Theatre and Matchbook Productions will end its run of Richard II at The Tank on May 24, bringing an uncommon aspect to this classic: flight. Re-imagined as a tale told by Nineteenth Century artists railing against Imperialism, eight actors, four low-flying trapezes and live music combine to raise the language of Shakespeare to new heights.

Museum of Modern Art Presents 'Art Institutions and Feminist Politics Now', 5/21

The Museum of Modern Art presents Art Institutions and Feminist Politics Now, a day-long symposium on May 21, 2010, that will bring together an international group of leading artists, writers, curators, historians, and activists to explore the impact of recent debates about art and feminism on museum exhibitions, collections, pedagogy, and cultural politics. The symposium is part of a major ongoing collection-based research initiative begun in 2005 with support from the Modern Women's Fund, established by philanthropist and artist Sarah Peter.

TRU Announces TRU Voices New Plays Reading Series 6/7, 6/14, 6/21

Theater Resources Unlimited (TRU) announces the winning selections of the 2010 TRU Voices New Plays Reading Series. In a series that is unique because it develops new producers as well as new plays, three works were chosen from submissions by emerging or established producers, as well as from writers who hoped to be matched with a producer.

Susan Hilferty to Receive 2010 Ruth Morley Design Award 6/10

The League of Professional Theatre Women (LPTW), a non-profit organization committed to promoting visibility and increasing opportunities for women in the professional theatre, is pleased to recognize the talents of two outstanding women: the Ruth Morley Design Award will be given to Tony Award-winning costume designer Susan Hilferty, and the LPTW Lucille Lortel Award and accompanying grant will be presented to director and actor Rebecca Patterson.

New York's Hudson Stage To Present DIVIDING ASHES 6/4, 'Divas on Hudson' Gala on 7/24

On July 24, the Hudson Stage Company of Croton on Hudson, New York, will host its annual gala fundraiser, 'Divas on Hudson.' The event will be hosted on a Hudson River property in Montrose. It will be tented rain or shine and will have seating available, in addition to expansive grounds for picnicking. The evening will feature a sunset concert with Broadway singers, a silent auction, wine and cheese, dessert, coffee and the view. Performers at past events have included Audra McDonald, Ann Hampton Callaway, Lauren Kennedy, Liz Callaway, Barbara Walsh, and Shoshana Bean.

Donnell, Umoh & More Set For ART's JOHNNY BASEBALL 5/16-6/27

American Repertory Theater (A.R.T.) presents the world premiere of the musical Johnny Baseball by Richard Dresser, Robert Reale, and Willy Reale, directed by Diane Paulus. The production begins performances on May 16 and runs through June 27, 2010 at the Loeb Drama Center, 64 Brattle Street, Harvard Square, Cambridge.

Edie Falco and Alison Pill to Star in NAKED ANGELS' This Wide Night, Opens 5/16

Two-time Golden Globe and three-time Emmy Award-winner Edie Falco and Tony nominee Alison Pill will star in the NAKED ANGELS-produced American premiere of This Wide Night, by Blackburn Prize-winning playwright Chloe Moss, directed by Anne Kauffman. Previews begin May 8, 2010 and the play will officially open at the Peter Jay Sharp Theatre (416 West 42nd Street) on May 16, 2010. This Wide Night will run through June 20, 2010.
